Re: OT: Sports show envisions Kobe blowing out his knee I'll let the karma gods take care of this one...
Re: OT: Sports show envisions Kobe blowing out his knee Somebody changed the title of this thread. FlashForward isn't a sports show.
Re: OT: Sports show envisions Kobe blowing out his knee Can we delete this thread and pretend it never happened?

Re: OT: Sports show envisions Kobe blowing out his knee I saw it yesterday, sick show and when they said that I was like woah! Can they do that?!?!
Re: Kobe Blows Out Knee......... can you do the opposite of a "hex"? Well, I guess that's kind of like what Rieki (or is it Reiki? ) is.
It's on Hulu. Watched it early this morning - it is a nice idea for a storyline and is based off a book, but half the acting is absolute shit. I expected better from Joseph Fiennes.
Fail on my part. I missed the part about this being on Flash Forward. I thought it was simply the OP making some outrageous prediction. So, I caught the show yesterday, and I'm hooked. Will be interesting to see how it turns out.
Re: Kobe Blows Out Knee......... If that would ruin his life, his life is pathetic. Sure, his happiness level might be down for a little bit, but it would mostly likely go back to normal levels pretty soon. I don't see how I've lost perspective at all.
Re: Kobe Blows Out Knee......... Because you, of course, decide what is allowed to matter to people. Sure, he's dedicated his life, to this point, to playing basketball, but I'm sure it won't matter if it's taken away from him in the prime of his career. Obviously, it's not the same as having one's child killed or being paralyzed, but there are levels of a "ruined" life. A divorce can "ruin" a person's life, even if you would consider that pathetic (it's not relevant whether you would consider that specific example pathetic, the point is that different people base a great deal of their happiness on different things). Wishing/desiring harm on players to enhance your entertainment (basketball events) is relatively twisted. Of course, we all have our quirks.
Re: Kobe Blows Out Knee......... When did I say it is not allowed to matter to him? Of course it would matter, but it is my opinion that it would not ruin his life, and your opinion that it would is no more valid than mine. You will probably say you have no opinion and you are just pointing out that it could. I am not an idiot, I know it could, but I believe it wouldn't. It is your opinion that it is twisted. I, on the other hand, am not known as a twisted person and do not see that as twisted. It is meaningless for me to wish that he injures himself, I am not actually doing anything to make it more or less likely. You come off as a self-righteous person to me. Again, just my opinion.
And it has been shown that a persons happiness level generally returns to its normal point, barring a complete catastrophe, which I do not see as injuring a knee.
Re: Kobe Blows Out Knee......... No problem there. If it's self-righteous to feel that wanting someone to get hurt for the sake of one's entertainment is a bad thing, I'm perfectly fine with that.
Just watched Episode 1... Amazing. I'm also hooked. Flash-Forward and House will be my 2 shows this fall. Also, Modern Family is pretty good, I will probably just watch those on Hulu after they air. Thanks for the links, PMs.
Cheering the injury of another player is sad. Not feeling bad for a fan base of assholes when their best player gets hurt is not, but if you taunt them then you are an asshole. That said, this thread is stupid.
