Ok, maybe not the worst but it has to be in the conversation. Showgirls I've never seen this until tonight. Wow. Horrific plot and acting. This movie could have single handedly killed the career of Elizabeth Berkley. Just an awful piece of shit movie. IMO, the title for the worst movie of all time has to go to 'The Pest' by John Leguizamo.
me and my old roommate watched it one night on tv and absolutely could not understand what was going on without the nude scenes.
Anything directed by Uwe Boll ... ever seen Alone in the Dark? I'll sum it up in one sentence. Tara Reid plays a scientist ...
Space Mutiny. The only way that movie is worth watching is if you watch it on MST3K. Just youtube the MST3K episode with it, and try not to laugh. What was that movie Britney Spears was in, when she still really popular? I remember watching that on the plane when I couldn't fall asleep. I don't remember anything about the plot, just the feeling of utter boredom.
To be a really bad movie, you have to: 1. Have superstar talent. You go into a Larry the Cable Guy or a Vern movie and you expect dreck. True badness must include a sense of shame and disappointment that comes from watching an Oscar star stuck in something truly dreadful. 2. Have a massive budget. With so many movies that should get made/funded but don't, it's got to have a massively bloated budget that will never recoup its costs. 3. It should be highly anticipated. Nobody really cared that much when David Hasselhoff was filmed by his daughter drunk and on the floor and begging for a cheeseburger because he just wasn't that relevant (well, except to Dirk Nowitzki). To be the worst film of all time, people have to care that it was so bad. Those are pretty tough criteria I've set out. Not because I can't think of a particular worthy film, but because I can think of too many. The top contenders in my mind are Ishtar and Godfather Part III.
As a teenager I hated Mystery Science Theater 3000... I might have to give it another shot after watching those vids.
