http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2009/09/a_lighter_physically_and_emoti.html I knew this team was missing Bill Bayno something fierce the year before.
This team is going to be scary when Oden gets it all together. Hopefully he's made some big strides this offseason and is ready to contribute more. He does look a tad lighter in the media picks from today.
Ain't that the truth! If Oden could blow up this season, it would take the entire NBA by surprise. Right now no one expects anything from him.
looks like him Portland is one of the up and coming teams, and he reports on the league. That Greg and Brandon have reportedly changed their diets makes me very very happy. The difference between eating crap and quality food/fuel for an athlete is huge. Both of them just look more fit/cut and healthy/happy. I was pretty optimistic about the club yesterday but now... STOMP
sounds great... but heres the questions i have... 1. can he stay healthy? 2. can he stay out of foul trouble 3. did he really improve that much on offense? 4. did jenson make him a sign or cd? when the top 3 happen.... then freeman can write another article about oden "looking great"
There is a lot of thought that Greg needs a big man coach in order to progress. We will find out just how important it is. I still think Nate McMillans job security relies on the development of Greg Oden. Well, Bill Bayno is Nate McMillans answer for Greg. Is he enough? We will find out. Bayno is full of optimism right now. But results on the court is all that matters.
Bayno has a great reputation as a developer of young talent ... does that mean he's fully responsible for how Greg turns out? Probably not, but it sounds like he was able to push the big guy and played a part in helping him get his head straightened out. It's not proof that Oden is going to have a monster season, but it's certainly a step in the right direction.
Didn't Banyo go to Spain and train with Sergio the year before. There is the sports illustrated jinx . . . and then the Banyo jinx.
No. John Townsend the Blazers shooting coach went to Spain. The summer before Bayno was prepping for his lone half-season at Loyola Marymount. But on that note, reportedly John Townsend spent a lot of time working with Jerryd this summer, so ...
We got a winner. Z-Bo had a career year after Bayno worked with him. In a way, we can thank Bayno for Rudy - he got NY to buy that big bag of dofus...
