As a claims adjuster, I've seen 6 or 7 chiros claim they can cure cancer with neck & back adjustments. However, the data is sparse since all those patients die of cancer before they can prove their theory. I've seen chiros advertise such adjustments can also cure hangnails, depression, weight loss issues... DC adjustments are also one of the leading causes of paralysis in kids under age 18. They have the usual 'hooks' to get people coming back and are the leaders in insurance fraud in the country. But here's a new one. Out on Hwy 224, a DC runs a hemorrhoid clinic. I love it.............

DC: "Well, er, Mr Prophet, what brings you in today?"

Me: "I suppose it's beacuse I have a hemorrhoid issue."

DC: "I'LL BE THE JUDGE OF THAT!" "Now, drop your pants and bend over, because I'm a licensed paracticing chiropractor."

I'm not a big chiropractic fan.

But I wondering if there were any chiropractors on this board and what their response to a skeptical claims adjuster would be? :D

Let's just say I'm glad they don't know where I live.

Live, yes . . . but I bet you would be willing to meet with one and debate their services.

I don't mean that in a rude way, only that you could probably go toe to toe with them debating the beneficial effects of chiropractic treatment.

Seriously, if I had to debate a chiro, I'd slaughter them.

That's not to say there aren't some good dc's (blah blah blah), but the fraud and abuse is overwhelming in their industry. It's even worse than us claim adjusters!

I'm a HUGE fan of my chiropractor.

I have a problem with fallen metatarsils, and if it happens while I'm on the verge of (or just getting over) a gout attack, I can barely walk for at least a week. Three minutes of adjustments, a toe yank or two, and I'm as good as new in 36 hours.

If he tells me he wants to cure my hemorrhoids, I'll throw him through the window.

yeah, they are good for a few things, but some will try to do more than just bone issues.
