Mark Cuban really had some points to make in an exclusive DB.com interview (dallasbasketball.com, an EXCELLENT Mavericks site, FULL OF GREAT CONTENT!!)..."The best reflection of a player making his teammates better is not his teammates' stats, but the record of his team." "If one guy could carry a team, Kobe would have 60 wins. Nash -- who has a sidekick MVP candidate in Shawn Marion -- would have 60 wins.'' Also, the Lakers were getting lots of hype with Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant back, as well as getting Andrew Bynum, and in ESPN or Sports Illustrated, you wouldn't find it surprising that heading into the season, Dallas was expected to be the 5th or maybe even 6th or 7th seed overall, while being third in their division. These parts back here are my OWN points...Right now, Dallas is basically the 3rd best team in the NBA, as well as second in the league, so Dallas is actually a better-than-expected team.OTHER NEWS FOR DALLAS...http://www.dallasbasketball.com/headline_D.asp?pr=Here are the main/most interesting points:-Avery said he might take 9 players in the rotation per night.-"In the playoffs, there is no more tomorrow. You need the best players, the most trustworthy players, NOW. That's the big one: the trust factor.'' Also, it said: Dirk Nowitkzi, Josh Howard, Jason Terry and Jerry Stackhouse certainly fit nicely into the "best-player/trustworthy-player'' definition. That's four. DeSagana Diop and Erick Dampier will at the very least fill needs. That's six. The Mavs say they severely missed then-injured Keith Van Horn in last year's playoffs, and young Harris is becoming more reliable, and where would Dallas be without Adrian Griffin, and Daniels might be the X-factor for the whole thing. ..."I say 'nine,''' Johnson notes, "but that doesn't mean it has to be the same nine for every series. Or for every game. The advantage we have -- or at least might have -- is that it can be flexible.''

No offense by wouldn't the owner of the team support his fellow player in his run for MVP?

Oh my God! This is breaking news! Cuban, the owner of the Mavericks, supports his own player?! SHOCKING!What's next? You'll tell me that Avery Johnson also thinks Dirk should win the MVP?[IMG]

Yeah, well Jerry Stackhouse said Kobe would be his MVP, and didn't even mention ANYTHING about Dirk!! Avery said he deserves to be in the race. Only Terry and Cuban said something about him being THE one and only MVP.But you should listen to his point.

Yes that will make a difference in the ballots. It would be more meaningful if opposing teams and coaches said it, not his own team. Also, who cares if Stack thinks Kobe is the MVP.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Hey, if Dirk should win MVP, why not talk about it?</div>We don't need multiple threads on this like you are doing, and we don't need to talk about it 24/7 when there others things in basketball to talk about.

I don't. This is a media award. The media loves LeBron and Nash and sort of Kobe now. Dirk gets his credit, but not to the same level as these guys get.I could make a decent case that Brand is a better MVP candidate then Dirk this year. But Mav's fans don't see that. . .
