If I was going to start a franchise I would choose Dwyane Wade. He is <u>young</u>, <u>athletic</u>, <u>versatile</u>; he can play point, shooting guard, or maybe even small foward. He is a great leader also, he has carried the team to and in the plaoffs various times; this year when Shaq has been injured he has lead the team to an above .500 record(I think lol). Sure you can say LeBron, but he has yet to show that he lead the team in the playoffs or in the crunch-time. Dwyane Wade has. You don't want to choose a young player who hasn't proven that he can carry a team, make clutch shots, or not get injured too much, Dwyane Wade has proven that.

But how can you say lebron isnt a leader? He has taken a underacheiving team, to being a winner! Not to mention he convinces guys to sign there in the Offseason! If he wasnt a leader guys wouldnt want to play with him!
He depends on himself to much. I meant as of a leader on the court. In the All-Star game when he played it was terrible. And Chris Paul is deffinately more of a leader than James. Even though James is better talentwise. You want a leader and that would be Chris Paul. No point and debating with you. Because, I know you won't change your mind.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (LUD @ Apr 15 2006, 10:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>If I was going to start a franchise I would choose Dwyane Wade. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Clutch_Melo_061 @ Apr 15 2006, 09:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Besides the bulls, most of the championship teams had a great big man,\. Lebron is no MJ.</div>Thank you,I would start with Dwight Howard,I believe teams should be built around Centers, kinda like what Bobcats plan on doing with Okafor,it doesn't matter how young Lebron is the way I see him hes going to have to be putting 40 every night since his teams sucks.
I would start my franchise around Kobe. I view him as the best all around player in the game right now. You cant put LeBron over him. And even if your startnig a franchise and want to go young, Kobe isnt exactly old.
If you switch Dwight howard to the cavs and lebron to the magic, you will get the magic a 3-4 seed and the cavs out of the playoffs!
Really? It's ashame it's never gonna happen and I don't find that a valid point to make,Lebron is good and young yes,but like Melo said the only player to win championships without a good center was Jordan, but he had the help of Pippen, who does Lebron have? He's no superman, thats why I think Dwight would be a better choice.
Actually it does make a point lebron is a damn stud and could take any damn team to the playoffs! He is the best player in the NBA as of now! Lebron is 21 and on his way to be being better than jordan...! Trust me i hate saying that because i love MJ! Everyone wants to play with lebron in the NBA so just wait till he gets someone to come to the cavaliers or wait till he leaves the cavaliers and joins a talented team!

personally i would take Dwayne Wade...versatile guards like him are hard to come by...and his numbers prove it
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Good points but even though I like Wade I don't know how he would do without a guy like Shaq or a big man.</div>Oh come on, he's proven all year long he can carry the team all by himself with both Shaq and Zo out extended periods of time. Anyway, I'd take LeBron. Obviously because of his age and the fact that he's already a top 5 talent. Wade and Howard are close seconds.
Wade is very underrated imo. He does so much for that Miami team. Without him they would have bad chemistry and be like a 8th seed.
For god's sake stop with this garabge about lebron is on his way to being better than Michael. You cannot be better than MJ when you don't play defense. When lebron learns how to play defense than i'll be happy to agree.Dwayne wade is imo overrated. Without Shaq the team is 10-11, with Shaq the team is 4-1. I know when wade was missing they played easy teams but you get the drift. He's not even undoubtedly the mvp of his team and people are calling him the mvp?Overrated.
Lebron 48% from the field and Kobe 45%. The point difference is very small but shooting percentage is more important. Lebron has more assist as well. Stop being a homer. I realize now that Dirk is probably the 4th best talent with Lebron, Wade, and Kobe ahead of him. The difference is Dirk has the best team of those players. Josh Howard is very underrated.
I think you're confused. I was not comparing Kobe to lebron, i didn't even pick kobe to start my franchise. Somebody said lebron was on his way to be better than MJ and i said untill he play defense that isn't happening. If i was starting a franchise i would take a good bigman over a good swigman. Do you see anyone blaming the rockets for drafting Hakeem over MJ? No, because Mj wouldn't be able to guide that rockets team to the championship. I guarentee you that.Surround a Great big man with role players and surround a great swigman with role players and the bigman will have more success. Good Big men are more rare.
Well there aren't many good bigman. Shaq is barely that anymore. The 2 together are deadly though like Kobe and Shaq.
CB4, Arenas isnt a ball-hog. He just isnt your typical PG. Just because he scores 29 a game and plays PG sometimes doesnt mean he's a ball-hog. He's a natural SG, which is why Daniels plays PG because he is good at getting his teamates involved. Gil can also do that, but when we're down by 10 or so, he's going to try to take over. And in those sitiuations, you cant call him a ball-hog. Those are times where you need to be selfish.I do admit, though, that I would take LeBron over my man Gil. 'Bron is just great in every category and is the type of physical specimen every team needs. But Dwight would be my first choice. Since the '90s, good big men are hard to find. There was a young Shaq, Olajuwon, Mutombo, Ewing, Mourning (he's still good), and others. Howard has the potential to be better than all of those guys. Thats how good he is.
