Anyone else tired of seeing ads for BluRay and how much better it is than DVD when you are already watching a FUCKING BLURAY?

On a somewhat related topic, there is a Chinese food place by my house that has been open for at least a year that still has a grand opening sign on the building. :NOTMARIS:

Blu Ray is the best source for HD material around.

Maybe there's higher resolution video over the internet, but if it's compressed then Blu Ray is still better, IMO.

Did you write that as a joke? I know it is badass, I am talking about how they put the ad for it on a movie you are watching on BluRay already. I kinda already have it.

I kinda remember that but the technology has to be there that they can pretty easily cut out the bluray ad can't they? Probably some law I don't know about, who knows?

I have HD DVD and Bluray... I like BluRay but the damn players I have take so damn look to start up... you think it is running so you hit open tray... and wait... nothing happens to you hit close track and then finally the tray opens and closes. ARGH! Also if you restart the same disk it starts again from the begining.

HD DVD has those same adds BTW. Sad they couldn't agree on one format. I wouldn't be suprised to see something else come along to sink BluRay before it is fully adopted.

I have a PS3, it loads pretty fast. I have read that there are better bluray players out now but the PS3 is pretty damn good. Mine isn't loud like some are so it is a win win.

They're encouraging you to buy movies on Blu Ray instead of regular DVD. Selling the experience for more $$$ vs. the cheaper DVDs.

If you have a friend over who is not a Blu Ray owner, they're advertising to him.

Thank you for giving me one reason that makes SOME sense. I would figure that the awesome picture would be enough but hey, can't hurt to tell them about it.

It is still annoying to me but I have a remote control to take care of the problem.
