They are delicious, and knock you on your ass. 2 parts Bourbon (or scotch), 1 part vermouth, and a splash of bitters and grenadine. Thats how I make mine anyway.
Yeah, I've never made one with single-malt. I generally don't add vermouth, either, since my friends aren't fans and it's a B1tCH to get the vermouth taste out of the shaker. You use the bitters AND the vermouth? Interesting.
I dont see how its a Manhattan without the vermouth. You make it the same way as me, just no Vermouth?
After some quick research, A Manhattan was originally made with Whisky, but it is more commonly made now with Bourbon. Also mixing ratios usually go anywhere between 1:1 and 4:1 Whisky/Bourboun/Scotch: Vermouth.
I agree here. I used to be wild. Then I had a kid. It turned my life around and I have not been in a bar since. I just want to be with my son when work is done. He speaks the truth. My grandmother and I drink wine. She goes to a lot of wine clubs and loves it! I can see myself getting hooked too. yeah man!!! No matter how bad someone talks ish to you, you never bring their kids in it!!!!
I have. Inevitably they start droning on about this great stock tip or how the little Thai place in the Village is so overrated in Zagats. It's not so bad. I just wish they'd shut up until after I've finished.
