hmmmmmm........well if amare can get his knee right then i'm sure amare will, he's been a beast, and can't be guarded one on one, this was proven when the spurs only put one man on him in the WCF last year
Simple fact: Amare is a better scorer, Dwight is a better rebounder. But then, for PFs, scoring is in the hands of playmakers.
THanks alot for that HM01, we really knew what you were talking about Basically, Amare is a superior scorer, with superior offense moves and a better jumpshot. He is also good for 0 rebounds a game. Dwight might be a 25 and 13 player one day, but he'll never have the impact Amare has. Amare is simply a beast, and the most vicious player since early ShaqIf Amare stays healthy, he will have the better career
I don't think you can assume Amare is good for 10 rebounds a game. He's never done it before.Dwight has. I love Dwight and I think he could be one of best players around. He's a beast. If he can get 2-3 low posts moves he could be unstoppable. He's still very young and improving. I think he'll make huge strides next year - his 3rd year. If the Magic can add a few players to support him he could be just as good as a healthy Amare or even better.
Dwight, his jumpshot is already better, he plays better defense, rebounds, scoring is easy to learn, you cant teach defense..
Dwight is 20, Amare is 23, its obvious who has the better offense right now. But in the future there is a very good chance that Jameer Nelson and Dwight Howard could be a great combination and Howard could be a 25 ppg, 13 rpg kinda guy..That is if he comes along as hes expected
Amare has shown he is a dominant scorer when he is healthy. Dwight has shown he is a dominant defensive player and rebounder. Ill go with Amare because I see him averaging 28 and 10 in the future. Thats just sick.
Ask me this question last year with a healthy Amare and the answer is so simple. However, with two knee surgeries in 6 months and the emergence of Howard as a stud, hes probably my pick now. Amare will probably return from his injury and be fine, but if he doesnt, it would be a shame to lose all that talent. Either way, they lead a promising group of young big men accompanied by Chris Bosh that will lead this league in the blocks for years to come..
i like amare. But imma go with dwight. Amare can score his a$$ off but he has a passing team. The magic are gonna end up being great where you see dwight getting 20ppg 13 rpg or more...Hes still a baby...

What's up with everyone saying Amare is a better scorer? Everything he gets comes of dunks or simple put ins from Nash and the Suns system which gets like a zillion possesions per game. Dwight is slower but more powerful and still has hops. HE OWNS amare on defense which is half the game. And is clearly the better rebounder at only 20. Wait till Dwight develops a post game like Yao Ming and he'll have atleast 20 per game. And like I said at Hoops9 if your franchise player is only 23 and has 2 bad knees and completely relies on their athleticism to play the game you're in trouble.

They're both 6' 10"And how long was Nash gone? How do you know those games weren't just flukes, scrubs have has 50 point games before. And who was there backup PG? I know for a fact that Diaw does a damn good job at the PG position in the Suns system. They're both 6' 10"And how long was Nash gone? Amare Stoudemire is hardly a scrub or a product of Steve Nash, when he dropped 38pts in KG's face we all knew he was for real. I honestly need to see Amare healthy again before I decide on which.

Bottom line is Dwight is more gifted physically, while Amare is an undersized center.Last year there was no Diaw. No one stepped up at the PG position when nash was gone. At least 85% of Amare's baskets last year were not alley oops or fastbreaks from nash. They were normal, half court style postups. Amare showed he could shoot the 15ft jumpshot or run around a big man and dunk it in his face, or forget to run around the big man and still dunk in his face.

Howard has good moves, decent footwork, but he isn't too good at finishing right now. That's why most of his points come when he gets a rebound, or the ball gets to him near the basket for an easy layup or dunk. It's gotten better since his rookie year, and will get better, but right now he does the same thing on offense. I haven't seen much of Amare Stoudemire, so i can't really say how he plays, but i know that from what you say Howard plays the same way.
Amare is the better scorer. But, you want to know who will have the better career and that will deffinately be Dwight Howard. Amare makes a huge impact on the Suns lineup when he is healthy. A injure free Amare would be one hell of a great player.
Dwight Howard. He will be up there with Shaq and Duncan as the best bigmen of the milenium when it's all said and done. I sense this to be a kind of KG vs Dunca kind of debate for years to come. Amare will be the player who puts up better stats, but Dwight Howard will be the guy who does everything needed out of him and gets his team over the hump. Tim Duncan > KGDwight Howard > AmareThis injury is very serious as well. Look what happened to Penny. Penny was also fairly young as well.
