    I don't know about the Spurs. I'd been thinking they were pretty much done. Now I'm not so sure.

    Most people who think they are through contending consider Duncan to be on the downward slide of his career. Is he really?

    Duncan at 32 put up the exact same PER as he did the prior year, a very respectable 24.4. In fact, it's basically his career average. He logged over 2500 minutes and missed only 7 games.

    Karl Malone was leading a team to the NBA finals at the age of 34, and was putting up a 24+ PER until he was 38. And pretty much everyone except Jazz fans consider Duncan to be the superior player.

    Duncan, IMO, is clearly good enough to still be the best player on a championship team. The question is whether he has enough supporting pieces around him to pull it off.
