I don't see this being permanent. Without Odom on that second unit, there is no veteran leadership or presence that can take over and control for a period of time. Farmar - Sasha - Walton - Powell - Bynum
This line-up will never see the floor though. But I do agree that Bynum will be a starter at some point this season. Phil has no problem tweaking the starting line-up.
I like Odom off the bench. He seems to be able to tame Farmar better than any one else on the team. I think we'll see Odom off the bench eventually.
Odom on the 2nd unit is better for me too. I hope we can reproduce the moxie that our 2nd unit brought to the game at the start of the season last year. Here's to hoping Farmar and Sasha have bounce-back seasons, and for Shannon to keep on improving.
I kind of just want a savvy, tough nosed vet over Sasha. Or just to take a shot with almost any other has-been, I think a lot of scrubs will look good in this system. I really am down on Sasha's future contributions for us.
Oh he's still starting huh? I think Pau feels more comfortable with Odom out there but Bynum has so much potential obviously. I'm not set on the starters yet.
Pau obviously can operate better with Odom in there because there is more room for him in the post to operate, but I like our team when Bynum is on a tear. Controlling the post with a two headed monster like Pau/Drew makes the game so much easier.
Good decision. With Kobe, Artest, and Gasol all capable in the low post, the Lakers don't need a 4th post player in the starting lineup. This will make the offense more effective, and they're still big enough and quick enough to be a very good rebounding and defensive team. The best lineups last year for the Lakers included Lamar Odom. He isn't their best player, but he makes all the pieces fit together the best.
