Please stop clouding the issues/opinions with irrelevant things such as statistics and facts. Who do you think you are, some new sort of objective poster who looks at the data available to him before forming an opinion? :devilwink:

Not a PG that handles the ball or a player with an offensive game that will take shots away from Roy and Aldridge. They also shouldn't want to push the ball and be 100% comfortable coming off the bench behind an inferior player.

Miller will be just fine once these guys have more time together... and that includes Roy and Aldridge. But, the more I look at the data - and the more it seems like Miller shoring up the 2nd unit in the 2nd quarter - to allow us to be ahead or stay close by half time is the place where he will have the biggest impact. This allows Roy and Aldridge to play hard from the start in the first quarter, allow the team to expand the lead or at least not get in the hole in the 2nd - and then bring the best unit together for the 3rd/4th quarter where they will be able to cause as much damage as possible and secure the important win...

I think it's too bad we're getting caught up in pointing the finger at players (and even at Nate), most of these issues could have been averted if KP had done his due diligence and performed the necessary roster surgery this past year to consolidate 12 starter/rotation quality players, mostly on rookie scale contracts and turn that into some more established players who are very good at the complimentary roles without needing so many touches or minutes to fully develop their game or ensure their second contract. Ideally you want about 9 guys who are rotation quality, with a few guys behind them developing or able to fill in as emergency depth for a few minutes in case of foul trouble or injuries.

After all the talk about "team first" and being unselfish, we're starting to see the cracks emerge as guys like Rudy, Nic and Greg seem to be wanting to show more of their offensive range and are less interested in just fitting in with Brandon and LaMarcus. Granted KP did add some veterans like Howard, Ime and Miller, who know who they are , but without clearing anybody but Sergio and Channing from the fold he's possibly entered the Whitsitt part II era, by constantly collecting players and never taking the steps to crystallize the roster into a clear cut hierarchy of starting talent and role players.

This isn't to say that the season will be a disaster and that a little bit of grumbling is going to undermine any aspirations this team has for larger success, but I won't be terribly surprised if this roster ends up turning into a discontented mess at some point. It's like filling up a propane tank with too much gas -- too much pressure and the whole things explodes.

I think it is very clear that a consolidation trade is coming - it is just that like everything else - they have to try and figure out when to maximize it for value.

I think it is pretty clear that one of Travis or Webster will not be us by the end of the year - and there is a good chance that JB or Blake will not as well, heck, some might even wonder if Joel will be a Blazer at the end of the year...

    Conley and ???

That's an interesting trade. Conley's probably a better fit for the 1st unit than Miller.

Dead weight: A guy like Jaric; he'll never demand PT because he sucks and he'll come off the books in another year and a half -- the price of doing business.
