I heard DirecTV just dropped Portland locals for Eugene Local channels. If true, I could maybe see them doing so. Although if its on free local channels, maybe the Blazers could be nice and stream them for free.

fu comcast, i can't watch all the nfl games on a sunday cause....oh wait that's exactly what directv does with the ticket. guess you gotta pick which you love more, the blazers or nfl football. and why would anyone have dish at this point? i am curious cause as a sports fan you get nothing, at least it seems that way.

Incorrect. The NFL allows the local market fan to watch every single one of their local team's games unless it is not a sell-out. In that instance, nobody gets to watch it. In those markets, the NFL even puts the game on a broadcast channel, except for the Monday night game.

So, it isn't anything close to the Comcast/Portland situation. I keep seeing people post this, and it's an invalid comparison.

I'd equate the DirectTV Sunday Ticket situation more closely to a Blazer fan in another market who wants to watch their games. Of course, they can always get League Pass to do so, just as me, a Raider fan, can get the Sunday Ticket to watch every Raider game (which is becoming harder to sit through each week). If the idea is to watch your local NFL team, then the Sunday ticket does not prohibit you from doing so.

yea but as a local sports fan all you have to do is switch to comcast and you don't have to pay any extra to watch the games, unlike the ticket. it's not a perfect comparison but it is legit and if you can get the blazer games and choose not to, i have no sympathy for you. if the blazers mean that much do what you need to do. i have comcast and friends that have directv, they come here for blazer games, i go there for sundays.

I don't recall asking for sympathy. I was commenting on the inaccuracies in your comparison.

    No biggie!

I have Dish because its cheaper.. and I can live without nfl ticket. I can watch most my games online. Dish has been fine just for me. But if DirecTV had comcast then yes I would switch to them.

I'm just wondeering when are the Blazers going to annouce something? I heard something was going to be announced on Oct. 10th. If I can't get CSNW on Directv/Dish the next best thing would be to get stramed games from the Blazers even if it did cost something.

Ya, I agree. One thing it's national not local and the NFL never said that Directv would be cutting a deal with local cable as we were told originally that Comcast was going to make a deal with Directv soon. You knew from the get go that you were only going to get it from Directv. It's just not the same.

They just announced: only the KGW games on stream, for a cost.

So, the games I can get for free... I would pay for on stream.

    Great.

Right, but they're working towards streaming the Comcast games as well.

I'll believe it when I see it. Comcast would be cutting their own marketshare if they agree, which I doubt they'll do. I wanted to hear from Larry Miller that they were looking to break their contract with Comcast if there was no significant movement in a short period of time. He didn't say that.

Given they spent 99% of their reaction to your e-mail correcting the mistakes in your e-mail, your pessimism might just be that you're mistaken. :devilwink:

Nope. Washington was included in Blazers territory last year after the Sonics moved, meaning the games are blacked out.
