This may not work for the marquee games, but the auction site at trailblazers.com is where I put the tickets I'm not using/giving to friends. Last year I had pretty good success getting right around face value for most of the games. If you're looking for single-game sales (even up to 3hrs before gametime), I'd check it out. You don't have to worry about paypal or anything---you can print your tickets out before you leave or pick them up at willcall, iirc.

Crap sorry guys.. it was just news to me.. but its also weird.. cause I got in on the sale when they first came out.. and got Rockets Tickets in the Red for 15$ and Laker ones for $9 in the tans.. I wonder why it changed.. and when, thats what confused me.. I did know about the price differentials to different games, but wasnt aware of the price changes to games I already bought tickets to.

That is weird. I assumed that the variable prices where in effect before individual game tix went on sale.

Yeah thats why I didnt check the prices, and assumed I already paid variable pricing since the Laker tickets were different price ranges than the Houston ones. I guess they found out they could get more money and went for it.

Most teams do this Wheels. It is just finally reaching the Portland market. It's a great business move.

I know.. I understand that part. What confuses me is why I paid less (although not complaining ;) ) and also I thought for some reason that the league required teams to have at least 500 tickets available at $10 on a game to game basis.

I got tickets to the Lakers, Celtics and Cavs for $9 each. I also just got two tickets to opening night for $22.00 in the purple section. I most of my tickets back when the single game tickets went on sale. I ordered the opening night tickets early last week and they arrived in my mailbox on Saturday.

Because I purchased more than 10 tickets, I get the group rate on all my tickets, but that usually only makes a few dollars difference per ticket. There is also a limit on the $9 tickets for the "elite" team games. You can purchase two $9 tickets for those games for every 10 other tickets you purchase.

Where did you see tan tickets for $35.00 each? Edit: nevermind. I just followed your link. Yeah, those ticket price are whack. Glad I got mine when I did. $22.00 each one week ago for tickets they are now selling for $49.00 each. I know opening night was originally listed as "sold out", but they released some additional blocks on 10/6 - three weeks before the game. They always reserve blocks of tickets for large groups. If those haven't sold three weeks before the game, they release those ticket sfor individual sale. That's how I got mine. Perhaps they are raising prices as the game gets closer to a true sell out

Once the 500 $10 tix are sold, they can jack up the price all they want, can't they?

I hope the biggest impact of the price increase is in the profit margin of the scalpers. I hated seeing scalpers buy 8, $10 tickets and sell them for $50 each. I would much rather the profit go to the Blazers, with the hope it would be reinvested in the team, as opposed to the bank accounts of the scalpers.

Of course, the problem is that there are fans out there that can't afford season tickets and will be priced out of the big games. There also is no assurance that Paul Allen will reinvest the additional revenue gained back into the team, but I like to think he will.

Good Points too.. Although I pray for the day when I can get some season tickets in the upper 300 level, cause I just cant afford lower bowl season tickets.
