I wouldn't say that, our superstar needs the ball. And rightly so. However, 4-13 or whatever is not what a superstar does....usually...

I agree. He should put aside what he does best for Andre Miller, a veteran who has won multiple NBA titles.

I'm not a troll. I agree with you. This is Andre Miller's team.

Come on now. Roy is selfish. What has he done beside drag a team up from 21 wins to 54 wins in 3 years in the West?

    Stop being ridiculous.

If I say it 20 times will the analysis improve, in your eyes?

Of course, in your eyes my post has an entirely different meaning than it does to mine, so I'm not sure I should play by the "PapaG Rules of Making a Good Point on the Interwebz".

It does appear that something has broken inside of you this evening, though. Are you OK?

Why don't we just blame the coach or the GM like most fans instead?

I actually sort of agree with this. That quote where he says he's still young and thnks he can still do some things makes me think he's watching his numbers pretty closely.

I don't think it's a problem or anything, but I get the feeling he definitely has a lot of individual goals to go with team goals.

Nothing wrong with it, but just saying...

For those of you concerned that Miller took over in the 3rd when we were down 1 and somehow contributed to us being down 10 at the end of the third, I direct you here:

    http://www.nba.com/games/20091014/PHXPOR/playbyplay.html#3

Look at 4:53 - Blake comes in for Miller as Oden shoots his FT's. Blazers down 2.

    Now read that play-by-play...

Turnovers. Missed 3pt shots. Everyone on the floor in a Rip City univerom is playing SHITTY ball. Look at the gems around 2:31.

Miller returns with 10:34 left to go in the 4th, the Blazers down 4, then instantly down 6 on the next play. By the time Miller "takes over" (after 9:50) the Blazers are down 8.

And he plays well, scoring 9 points in a row, and keeping the Blazers from being blown out completely.

    So anyway, that's my bit.

When Roy adjusts to Miller and a dominant Greg Oden, we will start crushing teams. Didn't Roy stink up the first 10 or so games of the 2007/08 season? I recall that he suddenly found his groove and got his first All-star berth. Roy just needs to find his rhythm. Oden owned Stoudamire that is what's important here. Monster game from Go tonight.

Brandon Roy has won exactly as much as Andre Miller.

You said Roy couldn't be bothered to recruit free agents. I assume that means he didn't have the best interest of the team in mind when doing so.

Am I mistaken by your post that criticized Roy for his offseason activity?

They're moving much closer to a deal, LMA has been notified, it's a long-term deal they're working out, and everyone is very confident it'll get done before Oct 31.

Ed specifically pointed out Roy's lack of involvement this offseason. I addressed that post. Had he mentioned KP, I'd may have responded to his take on that as well. :dunno:

You're not playing devil's advocate. You're not being intelligible. You're acting like a small child, repeating everything someone says in a mocking manner.

It probably makes you smirk back behind your computer, but it makes me laugh out loud. .... deleted.

I want to take a moment to interrupt your regularly scheduled bitch-fest/forum-meltdown/pointless-argument to recognize the two things that should really be getting us hopeful for the long term future of this team.

    1) Oden is getting it done! Holy shit, I know it's only against a Kings and Phoenix frontline that aren't exactly stocked with huge, tough centers, but still, when Dwight Jaynes tweets during the middle of the game that Oden is channeling Bill Walton's ghost (the most jaundice eyed Portland media member I've ever read), something good must be brewing.

    2) LaMarcus is reportedly close to inking his long term deal that he's been seeking all off-season, and to celebrate he goes off on Channing and A'mare.
