76ers are 4-0 Chicago is 4-1 Detroit is 3-1 Clippers are 3-1 The games are meaningless and they're not playing all out to win (e.g. starters getting 36+ minutes), but... I have always believed it's a good thing to come out of the gate with the taste of winning.
I am suprised by Philly. Chicago and Detroit have some talent on their respected rosters. As for the Clips, they have a nice rotation with a ton of injuries last year. Add Griffin to their team and I believe they will make the playoffs this year knocking the Hornets out of the top 8 in the west.
I'm sure someone will make the case Philly and the Clips are succeeding because Miller is no longer with them.
The surprise of the pre-season is us. imo We're really kinda playing so-so. When w/the talent we have, should be dominating. IMO. not screaming bloody murder, just am surprised a bit.
I agree. Nate had some questionable line ups this pre season, and he should experiment. I am not worried. Oden looks great and he is our free lunch ticket to casino buffet.
so the seasons comes and every things ok? roy and miller just fit suddenly? rudy and nic arent tired anymore from euro ball? blake and pryz become content? roy starts to get comfortable? we play great defense suddenly? outlaw gets traded? why is it that everyone thinks this will stop once pre season ends?
one word = preseason raps looked alright last night, nets will suck on the other hand, 20 to 30 wins my prediction
I don't think they'll get LeBron, why would you play for the Nets? lol Especially if he wins a ring with the Cavs, that'll be just one more reason to stick there for another 2 or 3 years.
Last year, Minnesota was 6-2 in the preseason; Cleveland was 3-5. New Orleans was 7-0 and the Spurs were 3-4. The first 10 or so games of the regular season will show who the early surprise teams are.
I'll say the first 20 games, you'll know for sure who'll make the playoffs etc, (barring any injuries later in the season).
I think it's surprising how arrogant the Celtics are. A bunch of rolling-down-that-hill-of-relevancy-face-first guys saying they'll win more than 72 games.
True. But we cant piss our pants either, because it would only get worse if the season starts and all of things you mention don't improve.
If we go by the records, then 2-2 Blazers might be a disappointment. They're not going to win 'em all, and you have to let the coach experiment with various lineups and test out his new players. At 3-2, it'd be a .600 win % and a pace for 49 wins. The sample is really small, though, and the games not so meaningful.
