Police are searching an area where a person reported seeing something falling out of the balloon while it was in flight.
Yeah, not a lot of good can come from this one. Either the kid got out before it took off and is hiding somewhere, or...
Who's reporting that? CNN coverage hasn't said that, and it's terrible coverage. No one knows any thing, it's hilarious. "Hmm, let's interview 20 people that know NOTHING!" Captivating.
Keep watching, if the boy is safe, they will show a clip of the White House to imply Obama was responsible. On a serious note, I don't care who is at fault or if someone was an idiot in this situatuion, I pray that the 6 year old boy isn't injuried or dead.
CNN has said it several times for the last hour. The balloon would have risen to like 50 feet within 30 seconds, so the boy is dead unless he fell out in the first half-minute. Or unless he was never in there and is hiding or something. So they should just search the neighborhood and save for later the search along the flight path.
So if it turns out that the kid released the balloon, and was hiding in his basement the whole time, what happens? Does the family get in trouble at all, or get a bill for the police/rescue effort? I'm not necessarily saying they should, am just curious how that works. If it's just chalked up as, boys will be boys, haha, or do they go after the parents in a situation like this? Here's hoping the kid is alright.

The speed was an illusion, caused by the telephoto lens. It was doing maybe 20-25 MPH, IIRC. The family was on Wife Swap some time ago. I sure hope the kid's okay...
OMFG I spit all over my monitor laughing at this!!!! Wow. Nice joke hahahah omg But on a side note, as I was reading this thread... each post, when they said there was no kid in the balloon, my heart sank. I really hope that kid is alive and well.
Thank God. He was never in the balloon and was hiding because he thought he was in trouble. As a parent, I'm so relieved.
