Vince Carter needs 28 points in his last two games to surpass Bernard King as the Nets all-time single season scoring leader..The current record stands at 1,909 points and was set by King in the 1977-78 season..

After tonights win, however, he needs just 15 points over the last two games (Philly and New York are the competition the club will face)..

That's a big surprise with all the scoring talent around him that he will be able to break this record.

I think it goes to show how good he has played this year..The impressive thing is that RJ has still managed to get his points and the development of Krstic hasnt been hindered by VC's scoring..By the time its all said and done Carter will have put his stamp on some of the Nets records..

I think he will pass it but not by alot like we all think. Frank said they starters wont be playing that much at all in the finals 2 games.

Yeah he has already cut down the minutes but I think he is aware of the record and will try to make sure he gets it. Remember when he left Kidd in with the bench unit in the fourth quarter of a blowout a couple weeks ago to let him get a triple double (I think he was like a rebound away)..I think hell do the same for Vince and this scoring record. You would think in two games he would be able to put together 15 points..Heck he should get that in a quarter against the Knicks..

In tonights loss in Philly, Carter surpassed King with his 16 points in limited action..

lol he took mad 3s. He just wanted to get the record and bounce and not play in tonites game with the knicks. cant blame him, he's arguably the nets mvp and deserves a break. and he's stayed off the ILcongrats Vince on a great season. 12th in scoring i believe?

I think Kidd is the Nets MVP, but a congradulations goes out to Carter for breaking the record and becoming the new Nets single season scoring champ..Will he break his own record next year?

I doubt it because hopefully Thorn will bring in a big man and take some of the scoring load off of Carter. Imagine KG
