The Nets are going to be the only Atlantic Division team to make the playoffs now that Philly has been eliminated..They are the only club over .500 in the division with the 76ers in a distant second at 37-43 (.463) followed by Boston at 32-48 (.400), Toronto at 27-53 (.338) and the lowly Knicks at 22-58 (.275) good for dead last in the East..
I still think their better than the SouthEast division. Orlando looks to be very promising though, but by next year I think the Atlantic will take the award back for Worst Eastern Conference Division. I mean is anyone honestly scared of the Wizards. I'm more scared of the Sixers than them and I'm being serious.
I dont think I agree with that, I think Washington is a more dangerous team than Philly and if I had to chose and opponent I would definatly pick the 76ers over the Wizards..
yeah the atlantic was piss poor this year, but i do expect the records from each team improve next year.
This is the worst division of them all. The Knicks would do better if they played as a team and didn't have huge contracts.
The whole central division is in!! that clearly shows how much they suck.Philosophy-Which is more greater the quantity of them sucking or the quality of them sucking?
The thing is at least Boston and Toronto have a future and have some young players to build around, New York has absolutely nothing and is going to be in the cellar for some time..Philly is getting older too, but Toronto and Boston should be better next year. I am prediciting Toronto to make the playoffs next year with NJ winning the division again and Boston putting up an improved record..
I dont know about that, Orlando is better than any team not named the Nets in the Atlantic. The same applies to Washington, and obviously Miami is one of the best in the league. Atlanta is better than NY in my opinion at least has a future of some sort and the same goes for Charlotte..That division is better than ours if you ask me..
Ahh..things will get better soon. The only team who isn't going to improve is NYK. All other teams have soe young guys to build around and good star power.
The Northwest divison isnt good either..But Jkidd is right, whatever division the knciks are in, is the worst
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheAnalyst @ Apr 17 2006, 06:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I think the Southwest division is more bad than the Atlantic.</div>nope. the entire atlantic is under .500. anyone that thinks the knicks won't improve is crazy. they did so bad this year that it's almost impossible for things to get worse. there is no way that they can do any worse than they did this year especially with a 2nd year of larry brown. they're gonna be making several moves in the offseason so the team is not gonna be the same bunch of heartless players next year. they won't be above .500 but i know they won't be as bad as this year.
Actually I was just looking at that division, youre right, it is pretty bad, I didnt even realize how bad it was..
I am a celtics fan and I can honestly say that this right now is by far the weakest. I mean ONE team made it to the playoffs this year. It is supposed to be the top 2 teams from each division, obviously it never really works out this way because the lack of talent. The Nets are for real this year. They to me actually have a chance of making it to the Eastern Conference finals. Regardless of who they play along the way, I think they can take them down. Not saying they are going to walk all over them and breeze through the playoffs, but they really have a chance to make some noise this year. As far as the 76ers are concerned. They are a team that has talent but the coaching was not there this year. I mean Mo Cheeks is a great coach no doubt but he, comming from Portland did not really have the experience of working with all-star players. This to me was a big transition year for him. But the question many people need to ask is "How long can AI carry the team?" The answer I dont think anyone knows. I can guarntee you this though. He will not be able to year in year out try and lead his team to the playoffs. I think this year you saw major improvements from AI number 2 and Dalembert. So with that being said hopefully next year the face of the 76ers wont just be AI.
