Sorry if you guys talked about this in the game thread, but I just got home from the game and haven't read it yet. With the team trailing in the 4th, Greg took over! He was amazing on defense and straight took it at 'em on the other end! He was pumped and yelling at the crowd after the and 1! Great to see! I have a feeling he is bringin it this year!
Sure would have been nice to see him not get called for bullshit fouls, Roy too. That And 1 Spin Move made me really believe..HES BAAAAACK
I thought to myself as that run was going, "Holy shit, this must be what the oldies felt like when Walton was on top of his game!" It was so fucking cool. I'm framing that run as an mp3.
Did you guys catch that Dr. J'esque flip off the glass from behind the backboard? Plus he got an and 1 off of it. I still believe that Greg needs to get involved offensively in order to get involved on both ends of the floor. He needs to have some fun in order to get that defensive stalking working.
Yea you didn't catch that one? Fucking awesome! In the air, behind the backboard, fouled, arm comes from behind the backboard and reversed it up off the glass and in.
wait, so we have to get some rep-love from you to receive the link? Well, I'm screwed.. wait...I have an idea! Hold that thought... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8GP7uDiMf4
okay okay... Rodolfo, turn your fucking PM's on... see what happened? It's just the radio feed. From right after the timeout that followed Denver going up 12, to the timeout when Oden fouled out. It's a fantastic stint. http://www.radiocaravan.com/drahma/blazers/2009-10-18-greg-oden.mp3
The aforementioned Greg and 1 was SICK! No joke, spun up and under Tim Duncan style. No power, all quickness! Also, on Greg's 6th foul, he swung the bows on KMART, and they got into it. Good to see Oden stand up to that hood rat!
Greg was awesome. Simply awesome. And the replacement refs were awesomely bad. The phantom offensive foul that fouled Greg out of the game was epically bad. As were a number of other phantom foul calls (like the flagrant on Joel). RE the Walton comparison: Walton never had Greg's power. RE Schilly's comment about saving us from Miller, I echo that (even if Schilly wasn't serious). The thing I noticed with Miller in this game (sorry, I have not looked at the game thread) was that he shot too much. Miller is very good. He's the best PG we've had in a long time. But he's not an elite level all star guard, like a "K" Bryant, or a "D" Wade, or a "B" Roy -- the type you hitch your wagon to and who brings the game home. Miller taking the game over and taking too many shots (as he did for two quarters) is a recipe for failure. Thank goodness that in the 4th quarter, when Roy was in and Roy and Greg were winning the game, I don't think Miller took a single shot. OK, maybe he did, but not an unnecessary one. I thought that was a very good sign. Go G.O.!!
