Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) 10 days out - and they still don't know who Rua and Overeem are fighting? Not good.......
Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) Well, not necessarily. Overeem has a fight a week before the Dream event so he needs to get out of that unscathed first.
Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) This event will be Dream's debut for the Hexagon, their new white caged fighting platform. Dream will also use 3x5 minute rounds rather than a ten-minute first round.
Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) So is there a chance Overeem wont fight at Dream 12? If he gets worked in his fight before Dream?
Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) Yeah. Even if he wins he could still wear himself out enough that he could opt out of the Dream event. He also has a lingering hand injury sustained in a bar fight earlier this year that might not be fully healed.
Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) I intrigued by the Alvarez/Kikuno match. Kikuno was that guy with that dumb stance and look on his face the last time he fought for DREAM but he ended up wrecking that guy and he is currently on a long win streak. Could be a good fight.
Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) Overeem defeated Tony Sylvester easily at the Golden Glory event so he should be good to go for Dream.12. Still no opponent, though.
Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) When you need a can... And he can't be good... Who you gonna call? James Thompson! When you need a man... Knocked out real good... Who you gonna call? James Thompson! JT will face Overeem at Dream.12. Naturally.
Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) James Thompson is the perfect can because of how physically tough he looks. Same thing with Kimo (who always gassed fast).
Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) It seems that a suitable opponent for Maurilo Rua (such as a complete nobody willing to get his shit pushed in) cannot be found so we won't see Ninja fighting on this card.
Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) Ed Soares (does this guy rep EVERY Brazilian fighter?) says Filho is alright, but I doubt it. I think he should probably take some time away from the sport to get his head straight.
Re: Dream.12 (Oct. 25th) I can answer that question He obviously doesn't do Shogun, Shogun has his manager with that kermit the frog guy voice. I think Wanderlei, Thiago Alves, and Big Nog all speak for themselves.
