FCC.........f__k com cast. I have Verizon now, but I suppose they won't broadcast HD unless you have CC. I know they have an HD channel, but I can only get the regular channel on FIOS. I left comcast.........had direct tv for a few years, bought NBA live, and loved it. Until...........comcast took over the blazer broadcasts. Finally broke down and got FIOS because I could get the blazer games. Now I can't afford NBALP to get my 40 games a week.
HD on Comcrap sucks. It's the worst HD signal of all the major carriers. Fortunately, I switched to FiOS a while back so I actually get a full HD signal and not one that is compressed. Unfortunately, Comcrap won't provide any other carriers the HD channel. I get CSN-NW on FiOS, but not the HD version.
I wonder the reason Verizon doesn't have HD is because of Comcast or Verizon. I would bet it is Comcast... but I don't know for sure. I did bug Verizon about it last year and the answer was "we don't plan on offering CSNW in HD". Also sent them pics of the crappie SD picture comcast was sending out... makes me want to puke... they said that was what Comcast was sending them and the problem was on their side. Comcast said the opposite but because the Comcast picture was crappy even on other providers I know the issue was theirs. I don't know if the picture got better at the end of the year or my brain just started to compensate for the shittiness.
That's not true. I live in Canby (yeah, I know) and both Canby Telecom and Wave Broadband carry the CSN HD channel.
Why? Is it because they have you over the barrel on their rates? Or because they offer you a compressed HD signal that they are trying to pass of as true HD? Or is it they offer you the least amount of true, live, HD programming than any of the other major carriers in the area? Or do you love how your internet connection speed is tied to how many people in your neighborhood are online, since they run everyone's connection through the same line? I mean, I'd get it if you said "I am glad I get CSN-NW in HD on Comcast." But I don't think I've ever heard anyone say "I love Comcast." Most people I know who are on Comcast just use it because they don't know there are better options out there or are too lazy to switch. I'd love to get the Blazer games in full HD, but dealing with all of the crap at Comcrap isn't worth it. I'll deal with the SD feed on Verizon.
I refuse to be blackmailed into getting rid of my technologically superior DirectTV for comcast. It is that simple.
i love comcast because i can watch every blazer game in HD. that and if i want to switch i can at any point because i didn't have to sign a contract that holds me to them like the sats do. i have no problem with their HD offerings as i get every channel that i could possibly want in HD at this point. oh and did i mention i get every blazer game as well.
I barely pay over $100 for TV, Phone, and internet. Not bad in my opinion. I call every year and get a discount. I'm not a tech geek so their HD signal looks just fine to me on my basic HD TV's. I dont need 3000 channels. I get all the sports I want and all the other regular/popular channels that everyone else gets. I dont have time to watch the weird obscure channels. I dont play online games or download much stuff... so the internet speed is fast enough for me. I do enjoy how I never lose my signal during bad weather and dont have one of those ugly dish's and wires hanging on the side of my house. I didnt have to sign a contract! My only real complaint is the DVR and remote. But I can live with it. I get 60 Trail Blazer games in HD on CSN, other Trail Blazers shows, and even some Duck football/hoop games. It always works... never had a problem.
So because your a technophobe and don't watch a lot of tv comcast is great? Boy that is sure great logic. Whats next? Going to tell us that because your unemployed that having a car that doesn't get good gas mileage is important, beause you don't drive to work? Gimme a break. Last weekend at my buddies trying to watch Ong Bak 2 on demand and their network was so busy that we couldnt' watch it. I went home and my supposedly guaranteed 20+ mb/sec connection was running at 4.7, because it was "rush hour" on the comcast network. Top it off with 3 outages in the last 2 weeks. They use compression that is visible on their HD channels. Comcast blows ass and charges too much money. I am about to send their internet connection packing.
Technophobe... no. Unemployed... no. I've been over to friends houses who have the dish's and the HD isnt noticibly better to me... so I dont really care about your "Ong Bak 2" issues. Whatever the hell that is.
I'll bet Comcast would love to be offering this to the dozens of subscribers that I've convinced to cancel.
