Most athletes are "always hurt"...playing a long season of competitive sports tends to lead to sprains and bruises along the way, that the players play through and rest when they can. This sort of injury is no more concerning or indicting for Oden than for any other player. I realize, though, that you, being an optimist, had hoped Oden would transform into an invincible superhuman for your peace of mind.
When I read Oden was hurt I thought of starting a thread with the title 'Oden injured, out for season' and then in the body putting 'for preseason that is'. That would have been to cruel and probably editted if not deleted.
Shaq logged more than 70 regular season games in just 7 of his 17 seasons. Not that Oden is going to be that good, but just that big bruisers often do have a lot of injury issues. Hopefully Oden takes care of his body better than Shaq, but the point stands. I wish there were a stat on "Injuries Delivered." I suspect, much like Shaq, over the course of his career he'll give at least as good as he receives.
Just to lighten things up... I have not yet had my caffeine and when I read the post at first I thought BBert was saying "I can't believe I care about the boobs of the rich and famous". Oops.
Well, you were kinda close. I don't care about the boobs who care about the rich and famous. That whole industry of creating 'famous' people who are famous for being famous so the 'famous people industry' can sell their celebrity shows and magazines to lifeless dimwits really gets on my nerves. But when it comes to the Blazers, well, that's different.
He probably should be ... these preseason games are more about finding a rhythm and getting into the flow of basketball -- something Greg has done very well so far. If he's dinged up let him rest for when it really counts.
