It's good to know he's going to be pleasant and at ease talking with others on both ends of the floor.
Let's see here. Oden's preseason stats. 14 ppg/10 rpg/1.3bpg/3 fouls/22 mpg 56% FG/71%FT Lopez's preseason stats. 16ppg/8rpg/3bpg (nice, I'll admit)/3 fouls/30 mpg 54% FG/72% FT Advanced stats from last season: Oden 18.1PER/60%TS/54%eFG/20%TRB Lopez 17.9 PER/57%TS/53%eFG/16%TRB If Greg Oden is "average", what does that make Brooke Lopez? Or, I'll just assume that Joel Brigham is an idiot and call it a day.
This is the same fool who left out Roy on his top shooting guards list, so I don't value his crappy opinions.
Who really cares what most of those dipshits writes. The only difference between them and folks that post in the forums is that they actually write for some sort of syndicated news source or website. All they are doing is what all of us do, spout their opinion from their soap box.
Lopez>Oden I buy it...Lopez had a great rookie year and isnt filled with injuries. Oden>Lopez if he wasnt so injury prone
I actually have a lot of respect for Lopez and he might have better stats this year. However, your statement above would work just as well if the word "Oden" were to somehow be replaced with "Bynum". As long as you can admit that as well.
oden was the better player last year even if it wasn't by that much but lopez had the better season because he was able to play more games and minutes.
being able to actually play DOES matter. How much longer are people gonna say "But if he was healthy he would be a top C in the game" That argument is on its last few straws...This is a make or break year for Oden in regards of if he truly will be an elite C or just an adequate one. I think Oden will be a 11/11/2 stat C for most of his career. Not bad, but not great
Greg played more games than Bynum last year, are you admitting Oden had a better year? And two years ago Bynum played 35 games.
So basically you're bias and refuse to understand the recovery process from microfracture. Don't try to be disingenuous.
yes it does. that's why lopez had the better season. that's not what i said. there was no if. last season greg oden was a better basketball player than brook lopez. this is oden's 2nd year playing nba basketball. absolutely nothing is make or break about it. oden almost certainly will post better numbers than that if he plays 30 minutes per game this season. just because you like bynum is no reason to underrate oden. both players can be good.
And Bynum isn't injury prone? The guy's knees are ticking time bombs with his loose ligaments. How many knee surgeries has he had - 3?
What? So if Oden sucks this year, but comes back, wins 5 MVPs and 6 rings - he will not be an elite center? What kind of argument is that? 11 rings, 11 defensive player of the year and 2 MVPs? Yes, I can live with that.
