He doesn't care about games that mean nothing. Remember his performance in the rookie-soph game his rookie year? He hardly did anything. He doesn't care about these games and yet he's leading us in assists. And yes, he only averaged 11 ppg but LeBron James has only averaged 15 ppg. Stay tuned. Brandon Roy will start dominating when it matters.
Saying Brandon Roy doesn't care about these games is pretty ridiculous. He's not going to be apathetic about preseason games coming off of a 54 win season when he's looking for a championship. You are an odd man mr. kingspeed. Anyway, I'm not worried. He's Brandon Roy, he'll get it going. Outlaw...not so much.
The result? Probably doesn't matter much. How the team plays together, and how Roy leads this new team (new meaning a new year with a couple fresh faces, new dynamic) is pretty important. Not so much in the sense that he needs to dominate and this team needs to go undefeated, but the hope would be for the team to improve and become more cohesive as it goes along so that they can go into the season strong.
Roy's first quarter shows he's ready. He can sit the rest of the game if he wants. We don't need to win this one.
