Last night in a loss to Milwaukee ( who cares...) The Piston's yougsters played great. Amir Johnson18 pts. 18 minutes. He did not miss a shot. HE was 6/6 from the field, 2/2 from downtown, and 4/4 at the line. I was very impressed. To me the NBDL is one of the best things David Stern has done since being in power.Jason Maxiell11 points, 12 rebounds, and what should have been counted as 3 blocked shots. He was great as well. I really see him developing in to a shorter but just as strong Rick Mahorn. He is a scrappy defender and also had some sweet dunks yesturday.Alex AckerHe had 4 pts, 4 ast, 4 rebs, and a steal. He was shy early one but showed signs of improvement later in the game.
Very nice game by the youngsters..I love seeing these guys get time..Amir didnt miss a shot and that was pretty amazing..Acker played real solid, filling up the stat sheet..and Maxiell did what he was known for..
Johnson's numbers are amazing considering this is only his 2nd NBA game of his career.I think Amir Johnson has a solid future. He is very quick for his size. Also his passing ability is good. He has some very decent court vision. Not bad for a player out of high school.
Johnson had some great jumbers. 6/6 is very good for a guy like him. Would love to see him some more.
I would love to see Amir in a Piston jersey for his entire career. All three of them seem like they can be at least solid NBA players.
wow, i didnt realize amir went off...i watched a good portion of the game and didnt see him score...maybe i just wasnt paying attention..my only problem with his game that i did see was his checks were going off from the 3 point line,,,simmons and redd...i still believe Maxiell will be the next ben wallace, with a little more size...very promising..Acker in the long run wont make it in my humble opinion...peace
yeah, Amir was great along with J-Max. Acker was o.k.but if you seen these guys in the DL you've known that they were good. But i also see all three being solid players
Well when you play youngers still they will obviously put up numbers, nothing amazing, Maxiell definatly has a future.
Many people thought that the 56th pick of the NBA draft would be useless. Amir turned heads, and 18 points in 18 minutes is great. Especially that he didn't miss.
Hopefully the Pistons can sign this guy next season to a multi year contract because it looks like he may have a bright future.
i think maxiell has a better nba body...with some more development, he could very well be a force for years to come...lets just not turn him into another darko...the guy needs PT
all three of these youngsters are good players that just need more PT. you can say that for more than half the guys in the L. Maxiell does have a good NBA-Body though. he can bang with the big guys...
yeah exactly another big nasty. he is a solid inside player and he is a decent shooter-which he has plenty of time to improve on...and he is also a solid defender...
remember he was a decent shot blocker back in his days as a bearcat in cincy...i am telling you if he gets the PT and experience he will be a force to reckon with
