Well, first off, I wasn't even talking to you, but it's clear you think everyone is, or should be. How very self-absorbed of you.

Second, Sergio's role last year was to fuck up. Miller actually contributes in a positive way.

Dude.. I'm taking about THIS team. On THIS team, we don't need our PG to score a lot and we certainly don't need him to lead the team in FG attempts as he did during the preseason by a mile. Blake is the best fit for this starting lineup. Our best players are LMA and they need the ball. Period. There are no shots available for Miller in the starting line up on THIS team. On the Spurs, they NEEDED Parker to score to win their championships. For the last three titles, they needed Parker to score cuz there was no one else in the starting lineup besides Duncan who could do it. Parker would be a bad fit on our team. He is not the kind of PG that will fit our starting lineup.

Blake 7 pts, 7 assts, 6 rebounds, 1 turnover, 1 block, and he only took 5 shots. And our starting lineup kicked ass. That is why he will start.

Yes. He was Finals MVP. He had to be. Who else was gonna score in their starting lineup. Bowen???

When we win the title (which we will, probably multiple times), we won't do it with Andre Miller leading us in shot attempts. That ain't happening. Roy will deliver the goods. Roy is 1000 times better than Miller. Make Roy happy. He's a future MVP candidate. Miller is not.

RoyToy- what are you really complaining about when it comes down to it. Blake played a great game tonight. Roy plays better with Blake than he does with Miller. Roy is our franchise player. And while you call Miller one of the best PGs in the league, he LED our team in FGs over the preseason. Do you really want Miller to be our first option on offense?? Ahead of Roy? Ahead of LMA? Ahead of Oden? Is that what you want? All because Parker's a good player?? Cuz that's what we got in the preseason. And that's what PapaG and I have a problem with.

I'll take his career over pre-season statistics.

Miller is a very talented offensive player that can create for himself and others. He shoots a high % and he gets to the FT line. He has a great basketball IQ. Turning him into strictly a passer is a mistake and shows no creativity whatsoever.

He won't lead the Blazers in shot attempts in the regular season. That doesn't mean however he can't take more then 10 shots in any given game. He's earned the right to be able to take shots and not be questioned. He knows what he's doing any may arguably have the highest basketball IQ on the team. I'd put money on it that he does.

His career on other teams doesn't translate into what he will/can do for us within the framework of the team we have built here in Portland. We need an efficient PG. Tonight, Blake took 5 shots and scored 7 pts (to go with 7 assts, 1 turnover, & 6 rebs) while Miller took 10 shots and only scored 8 to go with 3 assts,2 turnovers, & 3 rebs. Miller did get 2 steals but he simply wasn't very efficient. As for shooting percentage, he is a career 21% 3 pt-shooter (but for some reason shot two tonight anyway) and on a team like ours where you have two post presences who can command a double team and a star player in Roy can bring extra defenders to him, it helps to have a PG who can hit the open three. That is where Blake fits in. Like a John Paxson or a Derek Fisher or a Steve Kerr, etc. But Miller's defender can leave him to double Roy. Blake's man can not leave him.

As much as I hate to do it, I thnk I have to admit that I think Blake should be the starter. Basically, it's debateable whether or not Miller's presence helps Aldridge and/or Oden, but it's beyond dispute how his presence affects Roy.

I still believe that Miller is a better player than Blake, should get more minutes with Blake, will eventually assume the starting role, and will work out the kinks between he and Roy, and they will make it work...but for now, Blake should be on the floor the majority of the time that Roy is.

Yes, but isn't it nice to have a PG that can get into the line and draw fouls? Why rely so much on the 3 ball?

Having more than one ball handler on the floor is a bonus. Roy shouldn't have to be depended on so much. Why can't Miller get into the lane and kick it out to Roy? What's wrong with that?
He could either lob it to Greg or kick it out to Roy or....he could shoot it if he is open.

The Blazers relied way too much on Roy last year.
