this is for Fantasy Hoops FWIW. They are swing position players...and these rankings are only for fantasy hoops purposes.
Miller was informed on Friday that he will officially be coming off the bench this season, The Oregonian reports. Recommendation: He said all of the right things on Friday and appears to have accepted his role. Miller led the Blazers in minutes this preseason and could still get more minutes than Steve Blake, the starting point guard, even though he's coming off the bench behind him. (Rotowire.com)
so heres what i find disturbing about this blazer team "ready to contend" 1. we dont have a top 20 PG 2. we dont have SF on that list 3. oden isnt top 20 on that list 4. troy murphy is ahead of aldridge... anyone notice that they basically are saying we have 2 really good players and the rest are below average? its not like theres tons of starting SFs.... and we have none on that list.
fantasy bball and real bball are totally different. i have my reservations about this team but none of that has to do with stupid yahoo fantasy basketball rankings.
I think this is one place where Nate's pacing on offense is a detriment---if you have Blazers on your fantasy league team. I imagine that the high-scoring offenses will be liberally represented in fantasy drafts, while the slower-paced ones will not. In a game where only stats matter, anything that reduces your effectiveness in getting stats seems to be a detriment, and you're seeing the results of having a) the slowest pace in the league and b) a 11-12 deep roster. It's not like anyone on our team is getting Iverson minutes.
Where is Blake on that list? Roy is #3, and he's our 2 guard. So Roy is an unbelievable 1 or 2 guard, nearly on par with D-Wade, and Blake didn't make the list. Not sayin Blake isn't a better fit with Roy RIGHT NOW, but it's in our best interest for Roy and Miller to learn to play together ASAP. It really is that simple. Oh wait, this is for fantasy purposes.... in that case, well, everything I said still rings true.
