I don't get the Oregonian so pardon me if this has been posted. I'm not sure this is online anywhere as I was unable to find it with a brief search. While at my dad's house I opened the Oregonian and saw that on page D4 of Friday October 23rd's Oregonian Geoffrey Arnold picks Portland to finish 2nd behind Denver in the NW division. WTF is that? Sure if we were coming off a 30 win season I wouldn't mind seeing another team chosen to win, but don't you have to go with the home team as things stand? Denver didn't improve much and Oden alone should vault us past them. When Miller gets integrated that's another piece. I just don't understand how they can pick us to place 2nd. It seems like the Oregonian has done a study and found that negative Blazer articles sell more papers or something. Anyone else feel like this is utter bullshit?
Arnold doesn't really cover the Blazers. He does more generic features and covers the opposing teams stars when they come through. So he has no real allegiance to the team.
who cares everyone has an opinion, they choose blazers to be #1 they are homers not doing their journalistic job... Let the team play the game and everything else is moot
Yeah, because I read Oregonian articles for their prescient basketball wisdom and prognostication. If they think we're finishing second, I'm pretty ok with that.
Stop the presses! I agree with Quick, that must be some kind of editing error. (I'm sticking with 58 wins but the same results in the playoffs.)
Don't be surprised if we have a couple more heartbreak loses in the future before we reach the summit.
Anyone else sick and tired of all the speculation and guessing going on by media members? All I know is that it doesn't matter a tinker's damn what people guess the team will do (or not do) so why care?
I'm getting that way, but only because I'm 100% positive I follow the Northwest Division more than Broussard, Simmons, Adande, etc. Thorpe and Hollinger seem to have a good handle on the individual players (from different perspectives). I need to figure out how to get "sources". HCP's the closest thing I have to one, and he only talks about dungeons and dragons when we hook up.
