Re: UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun (Oct. 24th) So three fighters missed weight--predictably two of them were Gleison Tibau and Anthony Johnson, who are both too big for their divisions. Josh Neer also came in overweight so his fight with Tibau will be at 157lbs. Johnson will forfeit 20% of his purse to Yoshida('s hospital bills).
Re: UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun (Oct. 24th) Yea, Tibau is pretty ridiculously massive at LW, I wouldn't want to fight him if I were a regular sized LW.
Re: UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun (Oct. 24th) think me and some buddies will be ordering the PPV unless there is a hacker streaming site that isnt choppy, has decent video, and is reliable (hint hint) anybody?
Re: UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun (Oct. 24th) I have a 42" hdtv I also have that tv hooked up to a computer so I can use it for any website I know channelsurfing has it but i need something better quality if possible....or ill just buy it
Re: UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun (Oct. 24th) You're going to have a tough time getting a decent feed. UFC trolls the web looking for these sites and shutting them down. Justin.tv sometimes has private channels that are unlabeled, but you need to be invited.
Re: UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun (Oct. 24th) Barry looked like he was gonna get chopped down with those leg kicks in the 1st round after the eye poke, but man does he have some fast hands. Just explosive straight punches to the head lol

Kind of a mediocre night of fights... nothing unpredictable happened until the main event. AJ got an easy KO, no surprise there. Joe Stevenson fought exactly like he always did and beat an outmatched Spencer Fisher. Gleison Tibau did basically nothing but slam Josh Neer, who did basically nothing but butterfly guard him back to standing. Cain Velasquez exposed the hell out of Ben Rothwell (who the UFC desperately tried to build up as legit competition but clearly demonstrated he wasn't). Pat Barry made Antoni Hardonk quit. Ryan Bader smothered Eric Schafer, who displayed some of the worst striking we've seen in a while. Bader also gassed way the hell out like he did in his last fight. Chael Sonnen decision-ed Yushin Okami which was less of an upset than the odds made it seem. Chase Gormley looked like he didn't belong getting triangled by Struve... didn't show the Kingsbury or Rivera fights... then the unthinkable happened. Shogun won. Then got robbed by the judges. I had the fight 50-45 for Shogun. ALL THREE JUDGES had it 48-47 for Machida. WTF was I watching? WTF were they watching?
After the decision was read they showed Dana White walk over to Shogun and yell in his ear "you won!" This is bizarre. What three rounds did Machida win, I ask?
Fans are already demanding an instant rematch (away from California, where something fucked up always tends to happen).
Here were the judge's scorecards: Cecil Peoples: Machida (1st, 2nd, 3rd), Rua (4th, 5th) Marcos Rosales: Machida (1st, 2nd, 3rd), Rua (4th, 5th) Doc Hamilton: Rua (1st), Machida (2nd, 3rd, 4th), Rua (5th)
Damn, I am a Machida fan and I am glad he is keeping the belt, but DAMN! total robbery... I mean Machida landed some shots in those rounds he won but Shogun had quantity and quality. Although I must say I had a feeling that if it went to decision Machida would keep it, some sort of champion bias I guess.
^call me a machida fan as well.. but i thought shogun won the fight; i was a bit sad at the end because lyoto would lose his belt but thank God for those blind judges haha! hopefully they get to do a rematch come around new years? where lyoto will win it decisively (biased)
I am also disappointed we won't see a Silva vs Shogun match for the belt. Maybe we'll see a 3 rounder though.
I have no idea how the fuck Machida won that. I was drunk as fuck, but everyone @ the bar started booing when they announced the winner. I've got to watch it while sober to make sure I still feel Shogun was ROBBED
So you guys think this is the blueprint to beat Machida from now on? don't go for the head, work the body.
