I was probably only going to put down $300 bucks on Shogun, but still. I would have been pissed off to hell if I was robbed of $1000 by judges.

It must really suck for people who put money down on Shogun.

During the fight, you'd be confident the money is yours and then holy fuck!

I'm going to watch it again tonight but I can't see how it could be scored in Machida's favour.

At least we'll get an immediate rematch.

I expect Machida to come in with a better game plan next time now that he's fought Shogun once already. Can Shogun match that?

Well, admittedly I really would like to see a re-match.

The fight was close, but Shogun was slightly getting the better of the exchanges, and wearing down on Machida's legs.

Maybe it was a case of, "not doing enough to beat the Champ"?

I won't lie, I thought Shogun won, but that was based the fact that I thought the judges would score the fight like Forrest/Rampage, where Forrest got the win, but I don't think he did enough to convincingly seal a victory over the champion. The same could be said, here maybe? Maybe he didn't do enough to convincingly beat the champ? I was disappointed he didn't come out with a passion in the 5th round...it is a damn title fight, leave it all in the octagon.

    See that's the thing.

After the fight. I felt that Forrest had slightly done more than Rampage to win the fight.

Like 55 points for Forrest and 45 for Rampage. But I didn't feel that Forrest did enough to dethrone the champ.

Shogun vs Machida I feel it was more like 65/35, which I feel is enough to beat the champ.

The problem is though that Machida didn't show signs of the leg kicks adding up until later, and the early rounds by default went to Machida it seems because there were no knockdowns, and Machida was moving smoothly.

Dunno. I'd like to see more 10-10 rounds, though. I think Rua won the fight (and so did Machida from his facial expression/surprise) but a draw would've been at least somewhat acceptable.

the fight. i think machida won 2 and 3, and round 1 was really close so i think it is understandable that either guy could have won it.
