So that's 14M per year of superfluity? I don't remember Jerry Buss being so spendthrift. And I wonder how the comparatively cheap Odom and Artest feel about that. Good thing everybody loves everybody in Lakerland...

As a side note: it's sad that the Lakers board is so dead that its moderators feel the need to troll other boards.

I don't know why these always turn into Bynum vs Oden threads. Neither one has been an All-Star. Neither one has won any awards. I'll worry about this debate when there's some actual accolades to throw at each other.

Jesus, no fucking kidding. It's like arguing who makes a better hamburger, McDonald's or Burger King; the correct answer is they both suck and you should be eating at Burgerville.

We still have this year to pay Darius Miles the $9m left on his deal, right?

No one hates the Lakers more then me. But I have to admit that Bynum is just gravy for that team. They are freaking stacked!

And it kills me. If they don't win it all again this year it will be a huge failure Bynum or no.

I thought Burgerville was only in the Pacific NW. They have them in NY now?

exactly.. its almost like pre draft debate or something.. all this talk but so little on the court. I can see why Laker fans would get upset by this... its a jab at a player with a prety good future. And I would see the same exact thing happening if a Laker fan made this about Oden too.. Sad I know

The article is completely wrong about Bynum btw.

Tell me how many 7'1 285 pound centers there are floating around there. That shoot 55+ FG%, are quality rebounders and shotblockers.

Dampier, Diop, Jerome James are practically liabilities on the court, Bynum is a very valuable asset.

Bynum has the length and strength to guard just about anyone, he offensive game needs some polish, but he's shown improvement.
