I'm praying to God that Carwin can upset Lesnar.

Re: UFC 106: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Nov. 21st)

    Notes on the event:

-- Top heavyweight contender Shane Carwin was able to bypass a title eliminator fight with Cain Velasquez at UFC 104 thanks to the UFC's need for an immediate opponent for Lesnar.

-- Tito Ortiz was scheduled to face UFC Hall-of-Famer Mark Coleman but the veteran suffered an injury and is being replaced by Forrest Griffin. Ortiz won a controversial decision over Griffin in April of 2006.

-- Light heavyweights Luis Cane and Minotoro Nogueira were scheduled to fight at UFC 105 but their bout was pushed back a week to UFC 106.

-- TUF 8 winner Amir Sadollah suffered a controversial TKO loss to Johny Hendricks at UFC 101 and is looking for redemption against returning UFC veteran Phil Baroni at UFC 106.

I hope Baroni gets smashed, I hate that guy. Carwin got lucky being able to skip Cain Velasquez, what he did last night to Rothwell was nasty and I don't know if Carwin would of fared any better. Luis Cane/Lil Nog has fight of the year potential.

I never realized Cain was that damn good.

I honestly think he'll be one hell of a test for Brock or Carwin.

Jacob Volkmann vs. Paulo Thiago could be added to this event.

Seeing as how only one out of the three guys on that poster will actually fight at UFC 106 I guess I should take it down.

This PPV is now called Ortiz vs. Griffin II and is kinda-sorta not worth paying for.

Koscheck is fighting in the co-main event according to his twitter.

    Against who? Rumble? Hughes?

Although Rumble said he is injury free. To fight again in 4 weeks is pretty soon.

Agreed. But he didn't do anything in that last fight. I wouldn't be surprised if it was him. He was untouched.

Would AJ take that fight on short notice? Seems like a big leap in competition to make in just four weeks.

Hm, maybe it's Hughes...I'm sure if the UFC came with enough $$$ he'd throw his "fighting Koscheck would be disrespectful" comments and bite it.

Re: UFC 106: Ortiz vs. Griffin II (Nov. 21st)

Well, he wouldn't have to cut as much weight again so that would help AJ. but yeah 4 weeks to prepare for Kos isn't enough time.

    Could be. Hughes isn't booked.

Conceivably he could rematch Paulo Thiago on this card. Doesn't sound like a co-main event, though.

It needs to be said: Josh Koscheck is UFC Employee of the Year. The guy is down for whatever.

Re: UFC 106: Ortiz vs. Griffin II (Nov. 21st)

I hope he gets back to his wrestling roots though. He doesn't need to become a guy who only stands and bangs, he could still primarily be a wrestler with GnP, and complement his game with his improved striking.

At least though if Koscheck does go that way he has length, unlike say Sherk who has t-rex arms and has fallen in love with boxing.
