I'm telling you, that these frozen yogurt stores popping up everywhere are also money laundering fronts for Korean Sex Slave Prostiuttion.
Can't say I've ever had Yam Yam's. Russel St. BBQ is the best BBQ I've ever had that wasn't my own...brisket to die for.
I have. Worst BBQ I've ever had. The meat was as dry as a bone and the sauce uninspiring. I haven't found a decent BBQ place in Portland. I've heard some good things about Russells, but haven't been there. When ABM lived in Atlanta and I visited, he took me to some rib places that were so good they should be illegal.
The best BBQ I've ever had were (for pork) Pierce's BBQ Pit in Williamsburg, VA and the Salt Lick (for brisket and sausage) just outside of Austin. However, for PDX, Yam Yam's was pretty damn good.
Yam Yam nOooooooo! They have the best sides. However, the King of great BBQ is Cannon's Rib Express on 33rd.
What I like is their motto, From the Rooter to the tooter. Isn't a tooter something used to snort coke with? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=tooter
Was I the only one who decided to make barbecue because of this thread? Baby back ribs and Blazers game.....droool....
As the person who started this thread I think it's only fair that I get a pound of those ribs and a quart of sauce. Let me know when I can pick them up.
Seriously, earlier today and without prompting, my wife decided that she would pick up barbecue tonight because it's the first Blazer game of the year. Luckily we live in Denver, so I don't need to worry about what she may have done to score a little Bolivian Marching Powder.
With a little Bolivian Marching Powder in her she could almost make the drive to Yam Yam's and back in time for tip off.
Russel Street is pretty damn good. I like Yam Yams as well, but Russel Street actually had better sides IMO. That and some of their specials are pretty damn tasty. Like the Smoked Meat Loaf.
