In response to stupid deletions and bans on the "other" boards, I have typed that very message at least 20 times. I say the exceptions are when someone is destructive on ONE board (a programmer who ruins pages and pages with meaningless symbols, or making the same thread title over and over, each thread containing one word, so that no one can find the real threads without delving several screens back to before he did this), or if someone spams MANY boards with the same message (maybe including a link to his business or competing message board). But never should someone be deleted or banned just because he's a pest for what he argues on one board. The posters should easily be able to gang up on him and logically argue him into defeat. If they can't, then maybe he's right. Of course, there are those who want no arguments at all. (Like Religious Right Okies on the ESPN Sonic board, which still exists.) But I say that a sports message board is like arguing sports in a bar, although it's a virtual bar in which we don't meet each other, so no one can get into a real fight.
Here's the thing, MIXUM is actually not a troll ... at least as far as I can tell; he's pretty negative, but at no point have I ever thought that he was posting things just to get a rise out of people -- troll's at their heart are full of shit. In any case why is that a thread about PapaG gets turned around into a thread about MIXUM?
Really? I just can't buy that. I'm as big a cynic and pessimist as anyone I know, but I just can't see how anyone could act like that and truly be a fan of a team. There's no chance.

There's a difference between just rooting for a crappy team, and rooting for a good, young up and coming team, and finding every single thing possible negative to talk about, and harping on it ad nauseum, and very, very rarely posting anything positive about the team. And when he does, it seems forced, as if to feign legitimacy. Sorry, I'm not buying it at all. There's negative people, and then there's bored people pretending to be negative.
No big deal to get suspended for a few days. Hell I have been suspended a few times, although maybe not on this board yet. Most of them are well warranted, folks get carried away, and just need to go chill out. Sometimes some over the top dark humor gets you there too.

If OIG pays on his bet to me I think he should be unbanned. That would make him an honorable Blazer fan, and that alone should be enough to make him welcome here.
Maybe I missed something, but from perusing PapaG's posts from yesterday, it appears he simply got in a pissing match with a mod who couldn't resist mis-use of his magical banning power. So pretty much what happened at BBF to start the ball rolling. Power corrupts.
