As a person who came here from Oregonlive (via invitation from ABM) I don't think the problem lies with any of us. Most of the peeps who came here from O-live are pretty hardcore Blazer fans and love to drink the Blazer kool-aid. :pimp:

The OT forum is a different world from the main board. Those who tread into discussions regarding politics and religion had better have pretty thick skins. That's why I tend to avoid posting there much, I guess, what with my delicate skin and all. ;)

Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to keep myself from checking the thing out from time to time. Kind of like having to rubberneck at the roadside crash scene.

Yeah, I was probably out of line in saying that. Just seems like things have gotten a lot snarkier here lately and there are a lot of new handles floating around. The negativity just seems kind of weird to me given that this is the most exciting roster we've had in years.

I think there's 2 or 3 sources of frustration on the board, and many people have trouble just ignoring. They need to realize they aren't going to change those people's opinions or outlook on the team. It's best just to leave them alone. Easier said than done though.

Personally, I have my doubts about that, but that's neither here nor there.

As long as people, Natebishop included, feel the need to insult the front office, coaching staff, and/or medical staff over circumstances that these people had no control over, then I and anyone else reserves the right to call them out on their ignorance. The Blazers aren't perfect and I respect differing opinions if they're at least thought out and intelligent, but unfortunately people in here just toss out bullshit without any substance, and it's well past annoying.

If you really are a Blazer fan, then don't go out of your way to find the negative in every situation and throw innocent people under the bus. It's irresponsible and insulting. Some people on here may know the very people you've anonymously insulted and take offense to it. If you can't handle the backlash, if you get your feelings hurt over that, then maybe you should of treated others the way you want to be treated instead of spouting off unsubstantiated bullshit in a public forum.

You can't have it both ways. If you get off on being negative and degrading others who you don't even know, then be prepared for others to do that to you. At least you have the protection of anonymity.

Who are you to call people out?

It's their opinion. Why do we have a tough time dealing with that?

Personally, I hope Blazer fans and non-Blazer fans post here. It makes the board that much more interesting for me.

I agree with everything you wrote - except for the boderline-baiting part. There is nothing borderline about it. It is deliberate and intentional.

You clearly didn't read... shocker. I'm saying if you have the right to insult people you don't know, and I do, then I have the right to insult your opinion. I can call you out anytime I want. If you can't deal with that, then don't do it yourself.

All he said is that when you get busy being irrational, backlash comes with the territory.

I can see why baiting psots bug fans . . . it used to bug me when the Blazers sucked.

But I knid of enjoy the baiting poosts this year because the Blazers are good and will make even the most skeptical fans a believer.

I think it has almost happened to mixum. He isn't the same mixum of old, it is a watered down version of mixum yhis year and I think it has to be given the fact the Blazers are a playoff team that will take yet another step towards the championship this year.

I do not like your olive branch offer, but would have eagerly accepted an offer of a licorice rope.

being another one from O-live and one who posted ther efor 7 years. I can tell you that a good portion of the negativity are from posters that I have never even heard of before here. Not saying that people cant change sign in names and all, but a lot of them seemed to have roots in the community already established with BBF and co. And yes the negativity seems odd to me.. there was literally less negativity when the team was 21-61. Its baffling to me.

How did I insult the medical staff? I said I had my doubts... that's it. That's not very insulting in my book.

No kidding. It's like some people are scared of success. Have the new expectations given fear of failure? I don't know what it is but it's annoying.

I think the majority of the negative posts are coming from people who are trying to sneak adults into football games with tickets that are for juveniles only.
