My wife is active with fund raising for breast cancer awareness and research, and her group is going to be working with the Blazers at the game tomorrow night. She asked that I post this information for you all to read over and share with anyone who may be going to the game against Denver:

Zeta Tau Alpha-Komen for the Cure Night Thursday Oct 29th
    http://komenforthecure.blogspot.com/

Help Zeta Tau Alpha & the Portland Trailblazers support the Susan G. Komen Foundation on Thursday, October 29th! Bring your clean, PINK Yoplait yogurt lids that read "Save Lids to Save Lives" to the game this Thursday. You will find most Yoplait yogurts containing this lid available in grocery stores beginning mid-September.

Yoplait – ZTA will soon begin its sixth year of a partnership with Yoplait and its Save Lids to Save Lives program. The partnership began in 2004, when Yoplait asked ZTA to help collect lids on 10 college campuses as part of a pilot project. Now, Yoplait and ZTA have expanded the effort to all of our collegiate and alumnae chapters. For every lid collected by ZTA, Yoplait donates 5 cents to the ZTA Scholarship Foundation and 10 cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. By placing Yoplait lid collection boxes all over campuses and hosting special events, Zetas collected over 311,000 lids in 2008!

ZTA's table will be located at the North Entrance of the arena. Look for our PINK Think Pink banner!

ZTA will be handing out pink ribbons prior to Thursday's game.

    Thanks for your support!

    *********************************************************

Thanks to everyone who may be interested in helping out. She will have a booth set up at the North entrance tomorrow night if anyone would like more information.

All men can get behind savin' tha boobies. :) :)

(Yep, that's two smilies because that way they look like happy nipples.)

Seriously, though, my wife's business is interested in sponsoring something to do with Komen, but she hasn't had the time to figure out how to do it (and get some nice PR in the process). If your wife can feed her any advice, PM me.

Nice to know the Blazers are supporting the cause. My wife recently passed her 10 year survivor anniversary.

We should wear pink uni's instead of red.

Or perhaps all the refs, and officials can wear pink tops.

I tried to buy a dozen of the pink roy jerseys last night for her crew to wear, but they dont sell them any more unfortunately.

I am going to see if i can dig up any old adidas contacts to try to make something up for them next year.

Thanks for the positive feedback, mook, i will see if she has some info for you to pass along.

Somehow Yoni Yum seems to fit better there than Yoplait Yogurt.
