I would have to agree. They're not worth upgrading for because Batum is still very young and has lots of upside, possibly more than we know, and he fits out championship window. I can see a trade being made for Tayshaun for a team that needs to "win now".

If we're trading for a wing then it had better be a guy at the Caron Butler/Gerald Wallace level of player and not these guys who have shown themselves to be losing a step and not a clear upgrade over any of the wings we currently have.

Prince would really help our second team, playing with Andre Miller. As long as he doesn't bother Roy, nested in his narcissistic cocoon.

Caron Butler is suspiciously Rudy Gay-esque (volume scorer, little else). Does he play defense?

Wallace seems to be an obsession here. He's injury prone and a not-too-great shooter. Is his defense worth much? He's one of those guys who gets played at PF because he lacks the ball skills for SF. Can't say I'm enthused. Where are the young Scottie Pippens? (Besides Batum, of course...)

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Butler also has a strong Assist Rate (that is, percentage of possessions he uses that end in an assist) for a small forward. He scores, passes and rebounds a bit. I haven't watched tons of his games, but when I have seen him, he seemed a passable defender. I would say he's significantly better and more well-rounded than Rudy Gay.

Gerald Wallace may not be much of a shooter, but he's a very good slasher, which is why he's a reasonably efficient scorer despite his lack of shooting skills. He gets played at power forward a lot because he's strong and defensively versatile and Charlotte lacks good big men, not because he lacks ball-handling skills. He's very good at handling the ball and attacking the rim. He's not the passer that Butler is, but he rebounds a bit better and is an excellent defender.

Butler tends to defend a lot more when he knows he actually has a chance to win. You could tell after a while last year Washington was just wishing their dreadful season would end without injury.
