Re: Who's the 2006 MVP? 82Games.com has the numbers James' effect on Cavs screams MVP for LeBronhttp://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ.../mvp/index.html<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>If James' first two years in the NBA could be criticized, the commentary was twofold: He had yet to lead his team to the playoffs and had struggled in "clutch" situations. James has shed both of those black marks over the past month and a half, leading Cleveland on a 15-5 tear since the start of March that has gained the Cavaliers title-contender status and put them in position to potentially win 50 games. Included in the stretch were two game-winning shots by James and a pair of game-winning shots he set up. Over the last 20 games, James is averaging 34.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.9 assists -- an MVP performance, to be sure. While the Cavaliers will assuredly win fewer games than any MVP's team since Michael Jordan's 50-win '87-88 Chicago Bulls squad, there are plenty of mitigating factors. Cleveland has a rookie coach on the sidelines, and only one team with just one All-Star (Dallas) has won more games than the Cavaliers. With all due respect to Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Drew Gooden, the Cleveland supporting cast can't compare with the deep, veteran group assembled by the Mavericks. Also, the Cavaliers have been forced to play without free-agent signee Larry Hughes for 45 games, started unproductive Aleksandar Pavlovic 19 times and gotten sub-par work from their point guard duo of Eric Snow and Damon Jones. All three of Cleveland's major offseason acquisitions (Hughes, Jones and Donyell Marshall) have disappointed to some extent. Before this is ascribed to James' "not making his teammates better," consider that while Hughes and Jones have seen no significant effect playing next to James, Marshall's effective field goal percentage has skyrocketed from 39.4 percent to 50.4 percent when playing with James. To really demonstrate how much James has boosted the play of his teammates, let us return to where we started, to plus-minus ratings. With James on the bench, the Cavaliers have been outscored by 10.6 points per 48 minutes this season. Only one NBA team, the Portland Trail Blazers, has come close to that futility, getting outscored by 9.5 points per game this season.Still, Cleveland has earned home-court advantage in the East and could finish with one of the NBA's top six records. It is a testament to James' performance, and it is why he is the league's MVP.</div>
Re: Who's the 2006 MVP? 82Games.com has the numbers Cavs will not get past the 2nd round of the playoffs. In fact they have no chance at it. No Team that has no chance of getting past the 2nd round should not have an MVP. They are a 4th seed as well. Miami has a better record than them and New Jersey is tied with them as of now.

Re: Who's the 2006 MVP? 82Games.com has the numbers I like the article, but I don't agree with its opinion. Nash, Dirk, and Kobe are the rankings. LBJ and Wade are a step behind.
Re: Who's the 2006 MVP? 82Games.com has the numbers Kobe Bryant will win and when he does him holding the trophey will be my new sig lol
Re: Who's the 2006 MVP? 82Games.com has the numbers Kobe or LeBron definitely, most likely Kobe will win.
