This is a big time fight for the welterweight division. Koscheck is pushing hard for a rematch with GSP and Anthony Johnson is a fast riser in the weight class. A win by Koscheck puts him one win away from a title shot (or perhaps directly queued behind the winner of Swick/Hardy). A win by Johnson does the same.
Damn, this is really a make or break fight. Whoever wins this will either get a title shot, or be 1 fight away. (probably 1 fight away, but it really puts the pressure on both guys)
I've always wondered why fighters forget they're strengths for the most part. If Koscheck was smart, he'd try and take Rumble down and just Lay and Pray him to death. There is no way in hell he's winning a stand up battle. On that note, here's to hoping he forgets he is an elite wrestler!
Koschek is between the proverbial rock and a hard place. He can use his wrestling skill to wet blanket people to defeat....but he is far more marketable if he uses a more diversified approach. Which is the lesser of evils for him - lose an exciting fight, or win a boring one?
