I thought Kobe came out of the gate way too aggressive to begin with. I knew we were in for a long night from the start. They didn't establish anything, Drew looked hesitant, Kobe was forcing, and nobody else moved. I'm so sick of Scrodom. Is it too late to take back that damn contract offer?
Very tough. Over @ LG, people are calling for his head. I think people are crazy if they expected him to be an impact player right away. I give it 15-20 games before he feels comfortable enough to shake the nerves and jitters.
Basically everyone played like shit tonight. Too many careless mistakes. Got a big momentum around the end and then lost it, with such things like Artest missing both free-throws.
Ron was a very streaky player for the Rockets. He'll have his weeks where he plays terribly. And weeks where he plays really well. You just have to have patience with him, and hopefully he's on his game when the stakes are important. How's his defense been so far?
I didn't see much of tonight's game, but he is a pest on defense from what I saw. On opening night, his defense was damn good. I never realized how fast his hands were.
Yes. WIth the ROckets he didn't get a lot of steals because the Rockets haven't been a gambling defensive team, but he should force a lot of turnovers with the Lakers. And you guys have the horses to take advantage in transition.
this. We're without Pau Gasol, and we're still trying to get in the rhythm of things. I don't think it's a SURE thing, because Celtics are STRONG this year, but we'll start clicking soon. I wanted 73-9, but oh well, lol. Maybe this loss will get the pressure off us to exceed expectations and we can just relax and go out there and play ball. I say we like I'm actually on the court, lulz
This loss just means that we still have to work if we want to repeat. Remember last year, there were a lot of ups and downs throughout the year and this helped the team grow stronger. The box score looked very ugly LOL Bynum didnt even finish with 50% fgs. Shannon Brown was one of the few bright spots we had.
Shannon should be Kobe's/Fish's backup from now on. Farm/Sasha can fight it out for the other spot. Or ahead of Fish one day too.
i would prefer us to enter the playoffs not as the favorite (but at least as the top seed at least in the west) bec. this would give us more drive...
I only watched patches of the game, but did it seem like no one wanted to play last night except Bynum and Shannon? Sloppy turnovers, poor shot selection and Dallas beat the Lakers to the ball all night long.
Sloppy game to watch overall, we were just out played, plain and simple. Nobody really showed up except Drew and Shannon (Shannon continues to make his case to become a future starter). I seriously cannot wait until Pau comes back. I love LO, but he's way too inconsistent, and he showed it again last night. He played well in the opener and layed a brick against the Mavs. Him coming off the bench though, instantly strengthens the second unit. In all, I can't really take much from this game because practically everybody played like shit. Dallas just wanted it more, props to them. I love Ron, loved the signing, but it's obvious he is not comfortable with the system yet.
My problem with Ron is on offense, defensively, he's a major upgrade over Trevor. Kobe made some comments that Ron is not used to having so many open looks. He'll get better and more comfortable with time, but as of now, he looks out of synch in the triangle offense.
A good wake up call, nothing is certain in this league. Time to stop fawning over how good we look on paper, and get to work. I think we'll work it out by the end. Agree with Lost about Ron, he's just a bit off offensively. But he's not hogging or anything like many have speculated.
