Good grief, Rockets again struggling to finish the other team off in the closing minutes. But they had enough of a cushion to get a win.

Ariza follows up his 25 point effort at GSW with a career high 33 on 11-17 shooting from the field. That includes a 16 point first quarter.

But Brooks was the man in the second half, controlling the offense. Rockets are going to struggle offensively when he's off his game, but in the early going he's been playing like an all-star.

He was getting more shots in the flow of the offense and in transition. His outside jumper has been sweet since he joined the team. When he has to handle the ball too much (e.g., running a pick and roll), he'll struggle. He gets in trouble dribbling into traffic, not knowing what to do with the ball. But all in all, I'm very pleased with his progress.

Good win for you guys. The Blazers were lucky just to make it semi-respectable.
