<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (KMart @ Apr 30 2006, 07:48 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>My bad, 3 losses. Don't know where I got 4. [IMG] And the fact you brought up the back-to-back stat says enough. You have nothing else to throw out at me, because you know that it's right: Kobe being passive = Success. And Kobe hasn't been passing out of doubles all year. Where were you? I've seen highlights of Kobe shooting over two players to finish games. I've seen games where Kobe shoots over two players on countless occasions. I don't understand you Laker fans. The way Kobe is playing right now, he is the best lpayer in the NBA without a doubt. So much skill, and he's utilizing it in every way. Passing, scoring, leading his team in whatever way works. The Lakers aren't just throwing the ball in the post everytime. They are giving it to Kobe, running cuts off the ball. Kobe is passing the ball efficiently out of doubles. They are letting Luke Walton run some sets. They are playing as a team, and it's working. I say Kobe is too selfish, and "He's doing it so his team can win." I say Kobe is being passive, is now without a doubt the best player in the NBA, and its working, and I actually am getting blasted for it. For saying the Lakers are good, and Kobe is playing even better, I am actually getting argued with. Come on guys, watch some games. Any games. Passing = Results. There's a reason Philadelphia didn't make the Playoffs. There's a reason New Jersey has lost 2 games to the Indiana Pacers. There's a reason the Nuggets are on the verge of losing another playoff series. Selfish teams lose, unselfish teams have more success.</div>Your'e getting "blasted" (where'd you come up with that?) for it because you're basically saying, "Oh, Kobe hogged the ball his whole career and now is passing for the first time." Which is wrong. It's just much easier to see that he's not forcing it because his teammates are playing well, so it gets more press. He hasn't been this unselfish this season but to say he has been hogging the ball all season really proves that you haven't watched a lot of Laker games. You're also saying that this style of play works. Maybe, but not with a team like the Lakers. Phil Jackson is utilizing their strengths in this series, against Phoenix, the main strength is the advantage in the front court. So he said to pound the ball inside, and that's what LA is doing. You really think LA would win if they try (and they might get a chance) this against the Clippers? No, they'd change their plan up again, and Kobe would turn into a scorer again.

His teammates have always called hims elfish. The media has always called him selfish. NBA fans have always called hims selfish. He is selfish. And why are hsi teammates playing well? Because they are getting the ball. Touches = Production. And he has been hogging the ball all season. I have seen Laker games. You are the only person on this board who thinks Kobe hasn't been a ballhog. Even Melo thinks Kobe was selfish this year. Does that say anything?<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>You're also saying that this style of play works. Maybe, but not with a team like the Lakers. A) Go insideB) Kobe should be a playmakerThey might not go inside as much, but Kobe would continue to be a passer. Go with whats working. Their passing game has been solid. Stick with it. Why would being unselfish not work against the Clippers? I don't understand

But has to happen in order to get an assist? The player you pass the ball to must make the shot, that hasn't happened this season. Kobe's teammates have been inconsistent all year, Kwame couldn't hold on to the ball, Lamar was passive, Smush would show up every once in a while, Mihm would get into foul trouble, Sasha couldn't hit a shot to save his life, Luke Walton went through a terrible stretch for a bout 45 games. But in the last couple of months, ever since Mihm went down, Kwame has stepped up, Lamar has taken control, Smush has become an average NBA point guard, Sasha has hit big shots, and Luke has been on fire. PJ has realized this, and told Kobe to get his teammates involved. They're stepping up, if they weren't playing like this, we'd see Kobe going off for 40 a night again.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>What is their gameplan? EB and Kaman wouldn't allow the penetration and low post play that Phoenix does. You really think Luke Walton would average 15 and 7? They'd cut off Kobe's teammates and force him to beat them 1 on 5.

I'm the first to say Allen Iverson's steal stats are misleading. I'm the first to say that Oscar Robertson was actually more selfish than depicted, even though he averaged 8+ assists for a majority of his career. I'm the first one to say Marbury is as selfish as possible, even though he averages 8 assists. I've seen Kobe play, watched him play since the 02 Season, and I can honestly tell you he has always been a selfish player. I'm watching the game right now, and Kobe is passing the ball great. He's not just feeding the post, he's doing everything. Passing to cutters. Passing out of tough positions. Swinging the ball. He is playing at a legendary level right now, despite his mediocre scoring stats. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Because the Clippers are a solid defensive team. Of course the Lakers would have more trouble scoring, but at the same time, Sam Cassell can't guard Smush Parker. Elton Brand can't guard Lamar Odom on the perimiter, and if they switch up, Lamar can post up a smaller player. There'd be endless kickout opportunities, because no one on the Clippers can guard Kobe Bryant. If the Lakers carry momentum in, you'll see them continue to have success.Again, Passing = Results, something you cannot argue. No one can. The Lakers have realized that, and it's working

The Suns need a better game out of Marion. Nash can't be leading the team. The Lakers have stepped it up though. Especially Odom! He is averaging more poiints than he did in the season and is becoming a huge contributer.

That was very nice. I tried to give the Lakers the credit for the wins but this one was given to them by the refs, no doubt. Pathetic.

Wow Kobe Bryant with the game winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!You cant get more clutch than that. He hits the game tying shot to send it into overtime. Then he hits the game winner to win the game and give LA a 3-1 series lead.I am amazed. How can you be more clutch than that?

Bwahahahah at Suns, this is just great. These playoffs have just been sweet so far. Suns going down, Mavs about to sweep. All is well lol.You have to credit Smush along with Kobe with this one too. Just a great effort all around and some help from Suns who blew it every way possible.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>That was very nice. You know, there were some horrible calls but the Suns missed some easy shots the whole game so it's not totally the refs fault but they have done this to the Suns all season. Some refs need to lose their job or at least get some glasses...

Suns should hate themselves for this. No excuses for losing. Totally unexpected for the Lakers to do this. But, like I said they have been playing very well as a team lately. Kobe actually looking for teammates
