What the hell is Nate playing Blakey for . . . I don't think Nate has seen what we all see, I don't even know if Nate has watched a game.

The Blazers won in spite of Blake playing. :D

I think its going to be a progression for greg this season, I say by game 15 a double double will be normal for him.

Good, scrappy win against a tough away opponent.

    Oden gets a double-double.

Who was the guy wearing Blake's uniform? :drumroll:

We held them to 34% FG shooting. Was our defense good, or the Thunder just shooting like crap?

Mostly the latter, but our defense was better than it was yesterday.

Can't believe the Thunder only got 6 assists.

I'm getting to enjoy defensive games. Making each possession count, especially heading into the 4th quarter.

It just seems like when games are defensive battles, the Blazers are good at locking down and out dueling their opponents in the 4th. When it is an up and down offensive game, it feels like the Blazers are playing the other team's pace and keeping them in their comfort zone.

I don't recall many fast breaks in the last half of the 4th and that is when it seem like the Blazers were in control.

LA 6 pts, 5 rbs, 3 asts, and a block in less than 12 mins.

Prop to Howard for doing what a vet should do . . . come in when needed and provide some steady play.

He didn't take the game over, but he did what he had to do to not let the PF position dominate the Blazers once LA went down.

Pretty damn good numbers, it's just too bad he got hurt. Here's hoping it's nothing too severe.

I think Miller helped this game. Drew some big fouls and moved the ball on offense. I think him and Rudy will start to hook up on a regualr basis. Give it time.

He had 4 fouls and the worst +/- on the team. I am disappointed in his play and hope he turns it around soon.

Hey Denny, can we get a bit of javascript that automates this post for PapaG?

    Miller - <MIN> minutes <AST> assists <shrug smiley>

That would probably save him a lot of time, plus I think nobody would realize that it was a mindless bot posting instead of a human.

    :D

Well, it's my first post like that of the season. So, if you think you need a bot to update us all on this, I'll happily just take the 15 seconds and post it. Miller isn't even an upgrade on Sergio after 4 games, but I trust that he will be soon.

Steve Blake showed tonight why McMillan still starts him, hope Blakey keeps it up.

Okay, not just for you, but for the amalgam of people like you who post an unfavorable stat, follow it with a :dunno: and think it passes for discussion.

This is what frustrates me about this place sometimes, is that a lot of people after a game could be replaced by a series of small shell scripts that pump out stats surrounded by canned phrases and emoticons. Nobody's diving deep; I used to after games, but it's not worth it when nobody reads the posts, instead choosing to argue with KingSpeed or you or whoever is most annoying that night.

We used to have discussions. I remember it clearly. We would have long posts and discuss things in depth. This current level of discourse? It's frankly unintellectual. We're all better than this.

life isn't fair. I'm certain a some teams are more equal then others league will never favor a small market West coast team in my lifetime. I try to live in the moment and enjoy good hoops from my team when it happens.

What about Miller's game tonight was positive? Especially in a game thread? If you want to start a more targeted discussion on Miller, start a thread on what is positive and what is negative regarding his impact on the team at this point. I'm all for in-depth discussions, as you and others know from the BBF board (and ESPN for the old-timers), but a game thread seems to be the place to leave a random commentary. If you would like to dig deep into Miller, start the thread and I'll give some numbers that support my opinion on him thus far into the season.
