How much of these will he take before he blows?

He went from 12 MPG last season to not even getting in during garbage time.

He's a wasted talent. I can see his agent pushing for a trade by the deadline.

I wouldn't be surprised, I personally think the Blazers have too much young talent and players will eventually leave or ask for a trade... especially players who are young and feel like they should be playing more and would have that opportunity on another team.

I dunno, the few times they showed him on the bench tonight he seemed cheerful enough, encouraging his teammates as they came off the floor and chatting with those sitting on the bench.

But, if he wants out, I hope we can get something useful for him. I won't mourn his passing any more (or less) than Sergio or Channing.

Free Bayless! How is this kid going to improve without any playing time. He's definitely wasted talent. Have you seen what players like brooks and westbrook can do to defenses? I can see it now, if we let him go he is going to torch the heck out of our defense.

Bayless had an oppurtunity last year to show what he got but blew his chance. He had a great game against the Nets but then when his number got called he didn't play well and couldn't handle the PG spot. Bayless needs to improve his skills but he is still young and I beleive he can still be part of our future.

He only played in about half the games last year. Agree he needs time to develop, but yesterday Blake was shooting well. He won't get a chance this year unless somebody goes down.

If he had shown any tangible improvement over last year while in Vegas, we might not have gotten Miller. But he proved he was not yet ready for the NBA, and now he's riding the bench. Minutes are given to those that earn them. When he earns them, he'll play. Right now, he's PG #3 and when Mills comes back, Bayless will be PG #4. That should say something to us all.

4 assists total last year in Vegas

4 assists averaged this year in Vegas.

I am sorry, but I think that's tangible improvement.

I don't want to get rid of Bayless at all, but seriously, every time we have a young kid on the bench, does someone have to bring up Jermaine fucking O'Neal. Not every single talented young kid turns into a roughly 20-10 all star. Can't live in complete fear of a guy busting out because of one trade. I'm sure the same argument was put forth when we moved Telfair for a worthless mid-lotto pick as well.

I love it when people who never even watched Mills play for St. Marys start to talk about him being some kind of great point guard prospect ... get this, he averaged even fewer assists than Bayless in college and was even more of a scorer ... and he's a solid 3 inches shorter.

Erick Barkley was 22.5 as a late-first round rookie. Bayless was a 20 year-old lottery pick. In terms of potential they're not in the same ballpark.

Bayless hasn't showed any consistency yet in his career, but he showed an upside as a rookie that Barkley never did.

Jered is not at an O'Neal level of untapped potential, but he's closer to that than he is to Erick Barkley.

    This.

It's not like Jerryd played consistently. Bayless's playing time last year was very sporadic. The only serious playing time he got was when Brandon was hurt. Then he had some time after that where he was the backup 1. But that didn't last long. Did he played at all in the playoffs?

To say that he was getting 12 minutes a game and now he's getting none and he's gonna be upset about it is a misrepresentation of the facts.

More importantly, who gives a crap if he does get upset? The kid's done nothing. He deserves just as many minutes as Dante Cunningham.

Well, I did watch Mills play and he's a darn good player. He clearly outplayed Bayless in Vegas and is a better PG. Bayless is a SG in a PG's body.
