http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yfltowq It's probably not feasible, it's probably going to draw a chorus of "WTF"s from chemistry majors, and the Knicks might laugh, but it's deals like these that are kind of "once-a-decade" type of deals due to the Summer of LBJ crap that's prevalent right now. We lose Joel, Travis and Blake. We get Gallinari and Chandler and Curry's contract. NYK still has enough horses to be somewhat respectable this year, but shave anywhere from 9.3M (if Joel uses his player option of 7.4M, which I'm not sure he'd do in NYC) to 16.7M off of their cap for next year. It allows them to get 2 max FA's again. Yeah, Gallinari's a pretty steep price to pay (and Chandler's no slouch), but if you can get LBJ AND Bosh (or Wade, or any of the others) it's not as steep as you may think. We get value for taking on a crap contract from the Knicks. Gallinari has the makings of looking like a stud shooter from the 4 position. Our depth at C takes a hit, but instead of 48 minutes of Oden and Joel, we have 48min of Oden and LMA, with Gallinari (or others if we go small) picking up the slack at the 4. While maintaining the "shooter" capability of the backup 4. And Chandler is another "defensive energy" guy on the wing. Plus Bayless can try to get a bit of run. Miller/Bayless/Mills (when healthy) Roy/Rudy Webs/Chandler/Batum (when healed)/Cunningham LMA/Gallinari/Howard (when healed) Oden/LMA/Curry (when...nevermind) commence the
I thought Gallinary was a SF? We lose a PG, a SF/PF and a center for a SG/SF combo, SF and a Center that will require Paul Allen to buy another plane?
I don't think Gallinari can play the 4 AT ALL. Chandler would be better at the backup PF sport than Gallinari. But, I would like it. I'm a big fan of Chandler.
Absolutely not. I love Chandler, but Gallinari is a joke. You think Oden is injury prone? And D'Antoni isn't giving up his buddys son.
on defense he is. Geez I've seen teams run clear outs on him where it looks like he's roller skating on ice looking for a railing to hold onto. Dude can shoot and generally play on offense, but he's awkward and has very poor lateral quickness. STOMP
