Well, I am not sure CP3 would want to come off the bench.

Better throw Blake in that trade.

    No.

You don't trade your team's superstar unless he's unhappy. I've certainly been critical of Roy in the past (folks, he's not a messiah) but losing Roy has some collateral damage that far offsets any potential gain from acquiring Paul (who is and probably will remain a slightly better player).

Aldridge, however, would certainly be movable if such a player the calibre of Paul is available.

Also, hypothetically, the lineup would be... (assuming we got rid of either Miller or Blake in the trade)

PG - Paul / Miller or Blake / Bayless
    SG - Webster / Fernandez / Bayless
    SF - Batum / Fernandez / Outlaw
    PF - Aldridge / Outlaw / Howard
    C - Oden / Pryzbilla / Aldridge

Why in the hell would Webster start over Rudy? And also, why would Rudy back up the 3 when Webster should?

Just a random personal opinion, don't even know why I posted it.

I just have never thought Roy's game was boring, or that any Blazer games are boring.

Yeah this was puzzling to me as well. Rudy would start at SG and play ALL of his minutes at SG with Webster or Bayless picking up the scraps. I don't see why Rudy would play SF at all.

PG - Paul / Miller or Blake / Bayless
    SG - Fernandez / Webster / Bayless
    SF - Batum / Webster / Outlaw
    PF - Aldridge / Outlaw / Howard
    C - Oden / Pryzbilla / Aldridge

Roy's iso game is boring. The fact that the team slows it down to fit him as a player makes the game boring.

The San Antonio Spurs were one of the boringest teams in basketball to watch but they won several championships. So was Detroit. Booooring. Won a ring, competed for another. On the other hand, Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns are exciting. And they have never even been to an NBA finals.

nah, I love watching Roy break down his defender and score at will.

It's rather awesome to know we have that guy on our team.

I never was a CP3 fan, so I vote no.

Written in a way that, essentially, 2 of the 3 of Batum, Webster, and Rudy are always in the game.

And i think Webster is better than Rudy, hence he starts.

I would not trade Roy for CP3.

Roy is possibly going to be the best Blazer in Blazers history, why mess with a good thing like that?

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I would do it in a heartbeat. It would be akin to trading Clyde Drexler in his young prime for Magic Johnson in his young prime. Drexler is great and was the face of the franchise, but Magic was just better.

I love Roy and think he's amazing. I just think Paul is moreso.

As a by-product, I think it would allow a more effective use of Portland's young talent. Paul/Fernandez is a better long-term backcourt than Roy/???.

That ??? could be Bayless, but it's unsure right now.

the thing is, the way New Orleans is going, we wouldn't even have to give up Roy... or Oden or Aldridge.

Too bad no expiring contract...that and young talent could get it done for broke owners!

I would not do the deal.

No reason other then I like Roy more then I like CP3.

It a pretty tough descision though.

Because Paul would become the best Blazer in history, and possibly the best point guard to have ever played the game.

Uh, no. If you think an expiring is all you need to get Paul, 20 teams in the league would be calling the Hornets GM right this second.
