Mbenga played really well due to Damp's and Diop's foul trouble. Dirk and Terry are lighting it up from the field and Terry also has 7 assists. Nearly double his season average is.
The Grizzlies are usually a quick starting team. Usually they fade in the second half but Dallas is on fire. I loved hearing Reggie say Mbenga can't guard Gasol and he limited him to like 2 points.
Good win by Mavs, taking it a game at a time. We should sweep by the looks of it. Grizz are trying to storm out of the gates, but seem to lose steam after. I expect game 3 to come down to the wire though.
I actually think the Grizz win one game, probably at home, and get that monkey off their back. The Mavs kinda put it in cruise control in the second half, and that might come back to bite them down the road somewhere.
I think the mavs are going to throw the knock out punch in this next game. The Grizzlies are just not built for the playoffs. Gasol is not a superstar and the Grizzlies don't have a quality point guard. Also the Grizzlies don't get any scoring out of their centers so I could see them continue to struggle on offense. I predict sweep.
The mavs are having a battle in game 3. Down 59-58 late in the 3rd quarter. The Grizzlies are finally showing what they got. Hopefully the mavs can win this. Terry has been clutch.
Dirk did what superstars do...he made the big shot, the pretty much winning shot as far as I'm concerned. The Grizz will be in shell shock afte this one, being that they had the Mavs down by 8, and then stayed ahead pretty much all game till the 4th, and still couldn't pull it out.On a side note...does anyone else think Harris actually hurt us more than helped this game?I'm not trying to start anything, but all those drives and blocked shot really hurt the flow of the offense early on.
Oh man Dirk was clutch. Even though Stackhouse had a bad game he hit a big shot overtime. Not to bring up any bad memories but remember Portland?<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Marvinmartian @ Apr 30 2006, 12:55 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Dirk did what superstars do...he made the big shot, the pretty much winning shot as far as I'm concerned. The Grizz will be in shell shock afte this one, being that they had the Mavs down by 8, and then stayed ahead pretty much all game till the 4th, and still couldn't pull it out.On a side note...does anyone else think Harris actually hurt us more than helped this game?I'm not trying to start anything, but all those drives and blocked shot really hurt the flow of the offense early on.</div>Yes he did and so did Stackhouse.

Not only that, but I remember at least two tough shots he hit late in the game, and OT to help get us the win.I think Harris only playe 7 minutes, and had a TO...All I'm really saying is that he's just not ready, or quite the player, you think he is Mavsfan...at least not yet...I fully expect him to become that player in the near future, but not yet.
Alrite, but do NOT leave out Howard. In the first quarter, he had the offensive foul, and then the next play, he fouled some Girzzly while the Grizzly was launching a THREE! I mean, that's 5 easy points given up, basically. Then in the FOURTH, he had two straight possessions with turnovers...The only experienced playoff guy who is playing like one is Dirk, and he is playing like a superstar playoff player right now, too, as well. Terry is still new to the postseason, but Dirk and Terry are both playoff-made players.I just wish Darrell Armstrong would be inserted. Avery could've used him in the 3rd to help energize the Mavs!!
People on other mavs forums were pissed at Stackhouse for his shot selection. The only shots he should be shooting is that fadeaway off of posting up a player. Not those fadeaways from long distance and guarded closely. I saw one point where passed up an open Dirk to shoot himself. I'm glad he came through at the end but he was hurting Dallas most of the game and took away momentum.
Yeah, I remember that play, actually, but he IS a 2 time All-Star, so you can't really insult him, but he IS a leader, but oh well...

I honestly think he makes everyone else better when they play. Think about this, He is a scoring threat, right?? that means the person gaurding him cant double on him in the post, cant help on a driving Howard or Harris, or help on the screeen and roll with terry and Dirk. It might not show up on the books, but it does help everyone on the court. He only has to make a few of those shots to make the other team think he is a threat. Does this make sense??
All that I know is if I were the coach of the other team I would rather have Stackhouse shoot than any of the players out there. I would intentionally leave him open since he misses even open shots these days.
