Sure, I'm okay with that, but we had another rebounding shot blocker with two fouls just sitting on the bench.

Good points. It's one thing actually that has been all but ignored by fans. Roy's defense this year has gotten worse. He's not the main problem (or, imho, a problem), but for someone who has claimed he wanted to be better at both ends, he surely hasn't done defensive justice yet.

Our worst defensive players just happen to play at our weakest positions. SF and PG. And I don't care that the team calls travis the backup PF, he's a SF.

They really really need to make a trade to upgrade the SF, and/or can Nate.

He only played 15 minutes because (you're making this too easy) all they had to do was drive to the hole, Oden would foul them and he'd have to sit down.

Bingo! Ariza lit him up and then Roy blamed everyone else.

14 rebounds in 40 minutes. Hands down. Saying that Oden would've gotten 18 rebounds in 32 minutes is like saying Outlaw would've scored 45 if he had played the whole game. It doesn't work like that.

So why couldn't they play Joel? Huh? No answer? Anyways, 2 of Oden's fouls were in the 1st quarter, and weren't the results of penetration. Another one was him fouling Josh Smith on an offensive rebound. So that leaves only 2 fouls that actually resulted in free throws.

    Checkmate.

did i ever say that it worked like that? oden rebounded better than aldridge tonight. oden is a better rebounder than aldridge overall. both of those things are facts. 9 in 16 is better rebounding than 14 in 40.

i'm not saying anything about projecting oden's numbers over more minutes. he was a more productive rebounder than aldridge tonight and it's indisputable.

and really, i'm not sure why you're trying to compare aldridge to oden in that regard. aldridge wouldn't have been the guy to come off the floor for oden or joel.

Oden had 5 fouls and 3 turnovers in 15 minutes. Per 48, that's 16 fouls and 9.6 turnovers per game!

    Checkmate.

You need to be on the court to produce. LMA produced more rebounds tonight. Don't tell LMA, who worked his ass off grabbing those 14 rebounds that Oden was a more productive rebounder tonight.

'Blakey' needs to sit... he had his career year last season, and is just sucking this year.

yes, oden did a worse job in regards to fouling and turning the ball over. is that relevant to what we were talking about?

Are you saying Oden should have grabbed 14 rebounds in his 15 minutes?

    Steve Blake 2009-2010

    11-32
    32pts
    17 assists

In 5 games. Now think about his defense.

    Really? REALLY?

    FUCK this is annoying

Andre Miller isn't playing much better, especially on defense.

Time to see some Jerryd Bayless a little bit, maybe in a second-quarter stint just to see what he can do.

You can thank Nate McMillan for that. He's wasting his talent here.

Miller avg 16/6 last year on 47% shooting. Now he's just fallen off the cliff?

    Sorry. Don't buy it.

Bottom line: this "team" is just a bunch of guys going through the motions. Blame Nate, blame the players, blame KP.....it doesn't matter. This entire organization should be hanging their heads in shame right now. I really feel sorry for Paul Allen. I believe he wants to win, but he is surrounded by people who cash his paychecks and just don't care about their jobs.

    Fuck this team. I'm done.

Woah, man...isn't it a little early to be writing them off as worthless bums who don't care? They've struggled to start the season, but plenty of teams have in the past. I don't think these games have been greater windows into their souls than last season's games. Or any other games in their careers.

Been home from the game for a little bit, but haven't read through the game thread. Very disappointing game. The team just lacked intensity. Atlanta wanted it more and played better. Pretty sad performance by the Blazers.

On a side note it is my wife's bday today. Originally she wanted to just stay home, but since I couldn't sell the tickets we went. Went we went in I stop and ask if we could buy the buffet for Karla for her bday, but the gal said no. She surprised us by giving Karla a wrist band anyway since it was her bday.
