That's cool. But seeing your post, the bean counters will probably track her down and fire her.

You've never been a bum, have you. Freaks don't call themselves hippies, hobos don't call themselves bums, and Trail Blazers don't call their team Jail Blazers. Have some respect.

So, are you saying Minstrel is a hobo?

This is important because I have a blunderbuss duel with him and I need to know if I have to go down to the train yards.

Greg had 5 fouls so he was a poor option last night, which leaves Joel... he's "the strength" of the team? Ooookay :rolleyes2:

I happen to think LA is one of the best players in PDX and have no problem with him matching up on Horford. Nate decided to go with that so as to play more of an offensive lineup like he's done 10,000 times before to spread the court. Travis was going pretty well and is the same size as Josh Smith (their PF). So Nate's a "fucking idiot" when it doesn't work out because a 6'5 guard eats the club up on off the dribble jumpers? I saw Crawford crushing Martell for a while, then Roy, then Travis... how would Joel or Greg have slowed JC down?

Because we missed a ton of fucking rebounds in the fourth dude. That's the problem; that and they got really good position because our Center (lma) and PF (Trav) were playing terrible defense, well along with the guards too.

How can you guys stop supporting a team after a run of bad results?

Do you even call yourselves true fans?

I don't know if you were referring to me, but I still <3 the Blazers. But, I've said since last year that I do not like the coach. I think his rotations suck, and I think his use of our players suck.

In this thread, I am just saying that his fourth-quarter rotation got us killed. I put that to blame, for the 4th quarter melt-down. What was it, 6 substitutions in 6 minutes?

I don't know him well enough to know whether he's a hillbilly, redneck, or bum, but I suspect he's secretly a wandering cantor of the lowest variety.

again, the damage was mostly done by Jamal taking his man off the dribble... Joel is not the answer to cooling off a hot wing player filling it from the outside and breaking down the D on drives.

They did out-rebound Portland by 10 for the game. Joe Johnson out-rebounded Roy 8-2, Marvin Williams out-rebounded Martell 7-1... thats +12 boards for them. For the most part it wasn't their Bigs who did the damage.

    Several points of discussion here

    1. When is Nate going to wake up and figure out that the small ball (running??? Beats the fuck out of me why this unit is out there) with the unit of Blake, Miller and Roy out there with one big and usually Outlaw as PF does not fracking work? It didn't work in the pre season (It was completely dreadful), it hasn't worked in regular season, and once again last night that unit was responsible for the lead, and momentum melting away. WTF? I figured it out halfway through pre season. I would hope that Nate would figure it out sometime this season.

    2. Nate has always said that play will determine playing time. The facts are Steve Blake has sucked, and Bayless played very well in the pre season. Also of note, the team is having problems getting buckets in the paint, and that is Bayless speciality, penetrating the paint. The Blazers have been problems getting their motor running. Bayless motor is always running.

    3. How many more years do I have to watch Travis Outlaw pass up a wide open shot to make it hard? I feel like I am in basketball hell watching this guy. So many folks love him, and I can't figure out why. The reason they think he is awesome is because he hits tough shots. But I would point out, he purposefuly pretty much makes all of his shots tough intentionally, which is one of the stupidest things you can do in basketball. The easy shot is the correct shot. Making a wide open 3 or a layin into a jab step, one dribble fade away jumper with pressure on you isn't very smart, and he does that EVERY FRACKIN PLAY.

    4. The switch problem on defense. Once again the defense is switching everything (sounds like last season doesn't it?) and we end up with Rudy Fernandez and Steve Blake on Josh Smith. Or Aldridge on one of the guards. Are they being told to do this? Because if you are going to run a switching defense, then you need to have physical enough personnel to pull it off. People wonder why our centers are getting in foul trouble. Well it doesn't do them much good when they get switched on to guard on the perimeter. People talk about Gregs foul trouble, but it's not just him this year. Joel too. If both of them are in foul trouble, the guards need to get their shit in gear and keep their man in front of them.

I'm still trying to figure out why, after scoring 8 points in a row, Webster gets one shot for the rest of the game, and that shot came at the very end on a bailout three.

No reason to try and figure it out.

Nate substitutes by time of the game period.

He still stayed in the game for about 5 minutes though, and the team just failed to look for him.

Well I dont know if this helps but these are the offensive possesions after Martell's last 3. Doesnt look like he really even touched the ball. FWIW Blake was in and its the PG's job the get the hot man the ball. Meanwhile Blake was 1-3 in this stretch. This is a perfect example of the PG problems (mainly Blake). If they cant defend and they arent going to get the ball to the hot person they at least need to be able to shoot otherwise they are worthless. During this stretch when Blake was ruining Webster flow he wasnt shooting well. Worthless.

Well its kind of hard to shoot when Steve Blake doesn't pass you the ball. He scored that 8 points in a row, and then on one of the next posessions, Steve Blake is running down the floor with Martell open on his right. Wide open. Steve never even thought about throwing him the ball. He missed Oden 3 times wide open down by the hoop. 2 of those times he was standing alone with his hands raised to say he is open. I don't know what the fuck Steve Blake was looking at.

Martell has never shown much ability to create his own shot, but he is a pretty decent spot up jump shooter. His high release makes it hard to close out on him. His looks usually come from the ball being swung on the perimeter (50% of his career FGAs are 3's) but these are the result of who the D doesn't cover on the weak side, so shot attempts will vary.

One of the only two things he is ever looking at. Brandon Roy, or the painted area of the lane, to make sure he doesn't get too close to it.

Then why say 'you guys' when you are mainly talking about one poster? I for one didn't like the effort last nite, but I know they'll get it together. Even if they didn't I've been a fan since 74 I've seen a lot worse and didn't abandon the Blazers.

    GO BLAZERS!!!
